This was a fantastic recap!! My favorite season was 02. If Tri is hard to get into for anyone, you should watch the Project Mouthwash version for the first half. Yes it's an abridged series, but very well-done & I genuinely enjoyed it and it kinda helps me actually get invested in the characters wheras the original was too dull for me.

YES! It's unironically the best way to watch the movies. Half the time it feels like a shit post on why the movies are dumb or bad (especially with what they did to Diago which will always be hilarious) and the other a generally really loving and caring dub with good acting and usage of music from both the sub and dub.

I am eternally grateful to hear your support for Savers. As someone who grew up on it as my Digimon season (Never saw Frontier like ever growing up oddly enough) I still adore it. Both sub and especially the dub which aside from some modern dubs I have scene has to be my favorite. Namely for the voice cast (Quinton Flynn is a national treasure and I will die on this hill) and having the most oddly badass dub score I ever heard. But even the sub is also a great show with a lot of the actors being from other media I have scene and also having a great soundtrack namely it's opening (Hirai will always be my favorite JP opening) and of course Believer. But growing up watching videos online everyone dogged on this season besides like one or two channels I could remember. Yet I am so happy that opinion has really swung the opposite direction nowadays.

Digimon Tamers is my favourite season but of course like many Digimon Adventure and 02 will always be nostalgic to me, as well as growing up playing the first three Digimon World games with my brothers and friends. Great video covering the history of the anime dude, this reminds me that I still need to watch Digimon Savers/Data Squad and that we were robbed of Frontier in the UK and are still being shafted by Toei with no official release for 02 The Beginning…

The Adventure series still hold a special place in my heart. Even with the flaws Tri and Kizuna has, there is always a time where I come back to the series and it somewhere in the back of my mind. Tamers and Savers are also certified bangers to me. I tried Frontier a couple of times, but never got further than 5 or so episodes, untill recently because I'm suddenly a Cherubimon fan. The X Antibody movie is something I accidentally stumbeled upon on years ago, and I was hooked. Rewatched it recently, and I remembered why I liked the DORU line so much.

Wow, I thought I knew a lot about Digimon but I didn't even know about the Digimon Adventure 3D Grand Prix or the 3D Savers one either. I'm surprised you didn't include Digimon Savers: Agumon! Gaomon! Lalamon! Bakuretsu! Jougai Last Battle! if we're counting those as movies. Overall a great recap. I hope it helps bring in new fans who don't know as much about this crazy universe after 25 years. I too feel old, you're not alone.

I've been detached from Digimon for the most part for years. Definitely still holds a place in my heart. If they did an anime based on Digimon Survive it would slap. That game was great, coming from someone that is a huge fan of the visual novels and stories that come from studio Key, like Little Busters and Angel Beats

I know it has it's issues but Fusion is what got me into Digimon, it was fun, it was interesting, it actually had its own emotional moments, and to all that call Ewan annoying or monstrous, he's a literal child that was lied to about everything being a game. If you've ever grinded levels in a Digimon game you're theoretically no better tbh once he realized his mistake he was instantly on board with helping the main characters and yeah I'm just rambling but I've heard that dumb critique too many times

The 3D racing movie actually appeared almost simultaneously in a 4D form in South Korea's Everland park theater. Didn't realize it was a rare thing to witness but it had 4D effects and was neat as a kid

Favorite season is Tamers. Second is Ghost Game. One is a good overarching story while the other has a lot of strong individual episodes. Also, an someone who's watched the finale of Applimon, it's really good. High stakes, well paced, cool stuff going on. Also, like, two episodes before the finale arc starts is the crossover episode with Agumon in it, so I'd recommend that one too. It's cute.

Finally! Now when I imagine myself telling people a history of the Digimon anime (and I’m not being facetious), I’ll just imagine that I’m showing them this video! I also am watching Appmon for the first time. And I just watched all of Xros Wars before their TCG sets came out. The similarities in storytelling are obvious, and it feels like the realized what they wanted from Young Hunters was better served as its own thing. Hence the Appmon. One thing that has stood out to me is the main partners all look similar. Animal but with some tech/clothing on them, same bipedal proportion. While their silhouettes might be distinct, they just aren’t as diverse as some other partner groups. (The Tamers trio is practically perfect with them having different attributes, size, and primary and secondary colors.)

Digimon Adventure 2020 definitely feels like an alternate universe. It was clearly written by true fans of what came before it, and then was written as a spiritual successor to the original to fix all the complaints of the original. Things like having most of the kids importance drop off and only having the two leaders of the group get megas was fixed, and the two with holy digimon were made more relevant to the overall plot. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for that first season that started it all, but I really loved what they did with the plot of Adventure 2020. I would also love it if they would revisit Frontier. There's so many jumping off points they could do with a direct sequel of some kind. The entire idea was just so interesting in concept and story. I'd love to see what fans of that series could do to breathe more life back into it. It has a lot of promise for another heavy story of some kind.

I enjoyed remake for what it was but even it son liked the original 2 seasons more than the 2020 remake. The story just didn't hit those emotional points the original did. I will say that we just finished the remake dub last night and the final 2 episodes were actually hype and really good and left me and my son wanting more. Overall advebture remake could have been the best of all the digimon series had they focused on all the characters together more than just having tai be in most the episodes with just one other digi destine

Runaway Locomon got us Rika singing which is one of the most emotional songs in the Anime. Also Data Squad was Dark as the Thomas losing his Mom episode kinda traumatized me when I was younger but I am use to it now. Also Kizuna is a tear jerker too. Also Tri depressed me in Japanese when Hercules Kabuterimon sacrifice himself

Tri is one of those really odd films (or six in this case) where despite not being particularly good it pretty much explains to you how to take that story and make it good, as an example you could make the 02 kids absence a driving force behind the characters of series or the whole tai questioning whether or not there doing the right thing by battling these Digimon in the city
