Hi Jimmy thank you for yet another great video displaying Karolina's talent and grace. We pray that God will protect her and her family and keep them from all harm. This same prayer is for all of California. If I can may I raise a question that I believe has never been asked on your channel? We all have been following Karolina's career for many years and enjoying watching her grow not only as a person but also as an artist. Where would people like to see Karolina be in 5 or 10 years? Could she have a tour and stage show like Lindsey Stirling? or playing first chair in a great symphonic orchestra? Or perhaps something not directly related to music? We know that her talent can take her anywhere she wants to go. Thoughts?

If I try to answer you at least partly. I also try to give you my honest assessment as a music teacher who knows about the workings in musical world more or less. There is no doubt she has great talent and also potential to become globally big in popular music, as classical artist "market" is over-saturated by far and she is quite late to rise to the very top. Another aspect - she is without question a very advanced violinist, but here lies a paradox. She doesn't attend any renowned music schools, her high artistic level is achieved by taking private lessons from a highly qualified teacher, but she doesn't have any academic credentials or competition results. So the paradox is that Karolina is a professional level artist without official credentials needed to advance in high classical music world. High quality orchestras don't take players just like that. There are terribly difficult auditions, tens or even hundreds of musicians competing for a single place in a famous orchestra. Not even speaking of first violin place. And by the way, if she sits into an orchestra, we probably won't hear about her any more. All first chairs are more or less publicly unknown musicians just blending into an orchestra. Orchestras demand credentials and high musical achievements and international concet life. The best I can suppose is that after graduating from high school Karolina may enlist to the music school of her teacher as an official student. Now - she has much bigger chances in popular music field. She already is above most competition, she can improvise skilfully, she has developed her own performance style, she has a great technical command of the violin through her studies of classical music. In my very personal opinion Karolina has surpassed Lindsey Stirling artistically already. But great advancement in that field needs professional and highly recognized management and real creative contracts. Mere family business and filming street performances with a smartphone is not enough to do it by far. So she has tremendous potential, fantastic personality, very good musical capabilities, but all of this is not enough for the future without high quality proper management. I hope so very much that everybody who has to undestand it in the family does so and ensures that this beautiful talent will blossom instead of going waste. May there be much wisdom in Karolina's family to help her achieve that she has earned.

@@toivotraks I know we've had this conversation in private, my friend, but Karolina does attend Colburn's community school currently, also under Sam Fischer's mentorship.

Whether she will continue or not with music is out of the question, she will and I think she will decrease her pop music appearances, namely her weekly or bi-weekly performances in santa Monica, as she will most likely enter Colburn or Redlands under the mentorship of her long time violin teacher. I agree with Toivo that her future is more in the popular side of the business rather than in the classical side, this mainly because the classical soloists are prodigies at the age of 4, which Karolina wasn't. I also agree that musically she already way past Stirling, but I don't thing Karolina will engage in a circus act-type of spectacle as that of Stirling. Protsenko will soon strat to release to the general public her original songs, which we know she has privately released already and, after she graduates from college, she will use her enormopus popularity to launch herself into the mainstream showbiz, in my opinion. Cheers.

@@Guillermo.R.S. Yes, Guillermo, a parallel in Estonia is Music High School, teaching all general subjects of normal education but concentrating heavily on music and being affiliated to state Music Academy as a preparatory stage for young talents to enter Academy. About 80% of this school's graduates apply to higher Academy tuition. The professors from Academy also teach in Music High School. I personally have gone through all of it. There also is a large network of local budget funded music schools for children all over Estonia, both for hobby and for professional perspective. About 5-10% of their graduates apply to Music High School and also vocational music schools who also partly prepare young students to Academy entry. Cheers! But I may be mistaken if I think community music school doesn't give credentials acceptable to very high-minded and elitist classical music world. Cheers and thank you for easing my mind!

@@toivotraks The case of Colburn's community school, is not a proper degree or prep school as I understand you have in in Estonia, because Karolina still attends her regular private-Christian-hybrid high school with no particular specialisation in an specific area (in Mexico we also have that, you prepare for STEM, Humanities and Art, Medical, Business, Law, etc). The community school in Colburn is a programme for gifted kids, not in a conservatory level but with access to the facilities, the teaching from assistant teachers, mentoring from the faculty professors, recitals or performances and access to masterclasses. An example of kids with access to Colburn's CS were Martin and Miriam, remember them? Unfortunately they had to move to a low-income state, IDK if it was Alabama, Mississippi or similar, I assume because of the high cost of living if California. Of course this may give the kids the credentials to gain credits for being enrolled in either the conservatory or the music academy. So yes, it's similar to your programme in Estonia, but it also has some differences too. Your experience as a teacher must have been very rewarding.

Well, Jimmy, I'm extremely worried right now. It is damn too near to where Karolina and family lives. Even if she doesn't live in Santa Monica exactly but in another suburb of LA the anxiety persists. The biggest of several raging fires is in Pacific Palisades district - just next to Santa Monica. I try to find some information - not easy this time. We really have to pray our Violin Angel, her family, her cousins get through this well. I really didn't mean to start new musical year this way. Anyway - thank you Jimmy so much for another of your wonderful reactions to what starts another magical violin (and more) year on your channel. Let us hope fervently that everything turns out well for these wonderful people and excellent musicians and Californians in general! BTW - we can never exhaust Karolina's library, Jimmy! She adds more than twice as fast as we are able to exhaust it - so it is a futile attempt, but let's get on with it anyway. To see Jimmy's natural happy face listening to Karolina is a satisfaction itself! Update. Well, thank God our Violin Angel and all her nearest people seem to be safe and quite far away from the fires.

Sadly the Eaton Fire on the outskirts of Pasadena are causing grave problems also... taking away from resources that could be deployed elsewhere... The Brentwood area is now touch n go... more wind gust are just adding fuel to the fire... I'm sure Mr. Protsenko has made the proper arrangements by now if the threat seems ominous... my sense of the Protsenkos is family comes first, and property and procession can be replaced... I pray for all concerned and suspect eventually we will hear from this family soon on their status to ease the fanbase...
