Ever since I started bouldering, I never watched any bouldering videos. Lately every time after bouldering/climbing, I come home, prepare myself an energy smoothie, get the massage ball for my forearms, turn on your videos Paul and.... I just feel I am there with you. I love this routine, altho it makes me sad, that I experience all this sittin on the couch, destroyed from boulder workout :)

Just got back from a Hueco trip and I was climbing in this area (3 star arete). The holds on this are absolutely nuts, they would be poor footholds at just about any other grade. Amazing vision to see the line.

With something so crimpy, how long do you wait between burns? Also, at what point do you start to get frustrated when you fall - is it only once you have starting linking things together?
@paulrobinson876 жыл бұрын
when i was going for send burns i was usually only giving it 4 tries in a single session that spanned about 3 hours. this thing is so hard and sharp that i was climbing one day and then resting one day. yeah i guess especially frustrated when falling from the bottom because so much more is on the line than when i was just going for links... especially because every try was so precious since i only gave 4 in a day and each try took a lot of skin.

Love the videos. One thing I would like to see is a description of each move from the ground with you just talking about the individual moves. That always gets me psyched. In the Matt Fultz Warpath video he shows a good example of what I am talking about. Anyways great video, Hi from Utah:)

That’s sadly a great name for a problem like that! When you project do you just spend the total time you’re in an area solely working on just the one problem or do you mix it up and climb other things maybe not as hard? I feel 9 days on a single problem would be crazy frustrating, but obviously incredible in the end!
@paulrobinson876 жыл бұрын
Brennan Brumfield i tend to put all of my focus into one climb. This trip to Hueco was solely about trying to finish this line off. That is why I felt like karoshi was a good name for the project that I really had to work day in and day out to finally complete.

Robbie Mize Karōshi (過労死), which can be translated literally as "overwork death" in Japanese, is occupational sudden mortality. I chose this name because of the fight I had to put into this thing!

Did you consider v16 forthis? Considering it was such a long proj and you’ve climbed 15s much quicker?
@paulrobinson876 жыл бұрын
grades are such a subjective and difficult topic. I hope others will try it soon so that we, as a community, can more of a consensus on this line. only time will tell!
@Jsoccer19996 жыл бұрын
Paul Robinson I agree, I wonder what the future holds for this line. I just ask because if you send the Daniel woods v16 line in bishop with similar difficulty would you consider v16? Or how does this compare to bugeliesen sit, which took you a very short time to do the stand as well as get the moves for the sit? If you had the time, would you bet you would’ve completed the sit in less time than this project (which even moreso I’m curious cause this one appeared more your style then bugeliesien sit)

How the hell does someone climbing V15 possibly not have defined triceps!?!?
@Imthedragonreborn6 жыл бұрын
Contrarily to what all the V5 gym bros think, pumping iron is not really needed to boulder hard. It's a lot more about finger strenght, technique and power/weight ratio.
@YoureInSilico5 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Just to comment a little on the music here, I found it to be a bit too generic and vlog-type. Doesn't really bring justice to the otherwise unique video. A track that was a little more personal or unique would have suited this better. Just my opinion though! Your climbing technique is mesmerizingly good, I really enjoy these videos.
