LHSAA Class 4A Two-Time defending champs Edna Karr wins their 3rd consecutive state championship as the Cougars score 21 unanswered points after Easton jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the 1st quarter. Warren Easton came roaring back as the Eagles made one final attempt at a comeback as #12 Sr. QB Lance Legendre hit #13 Sr. WR Kiaeem Green on 4th down in the end zone, then cut the game to a one-point deficit on the successful two-point run.
#19 Sr. WR Jahii Howard earns Most Outstanding player for Karr as he scores 3 TDs, two on the ground, and a clutch game-sealing acrobatic reception in the 4th quarter to extend the Cougars lead to 8. #3 Jr. QB Leonard Kelly showed poise and grit after being harrassed all night by a relentless Eagle pass rush to hit Howard on a 4th down roll out in the end zone to secure the victory.
The Eagles committed momentum killing turnovers after QB Lance Legendre was slowed by a lower leg injury. The Cougars defense tightened up and bottled up top RB recruit, #2 Jr. Ashaad "Shotty" Clayton, who did little damage for most of the game on the ground, although he was force in the 2nd half in the pass game. Two late game turnovers in the final 3 minutes sealed the Eagles' fate, as #20 Jr. LB Joseph Thomas stripped #7 Sr. RB/DB Jahmal Sam and returned the ball into Eagle territory.
Easton's defense got the ball back for the offense, but with near a minute remaining, on the first play of the drive, Legendre throws a critical interception as #91 Sr. DL Austin Kent read the screen, jumped in front of the receiver and made a championship earning play for the Cougars as the Cougar offense only had to kneel the ball to run out the clock. Edna Karr wins the "Purple and Gold Bowl", 28-20 over fierce rivals Warren Easton.

Actually 12 got hurt (right ankle)back in the 1st when it was 12-0 and they fumbled the next play, then aggravated it again in the 4th, look at 35:25 the next play they next play they fumbled cuz the safety was in playing qb
