As a professional I’m going to say this is a tried and true method for deep cleaning secondary to steam( not really steam) hot water extraction professionally done. One suggestion would be to use a one gallon pump up sprayer or the equivalent for pre treat and complete pray of area to be cleaned ( be sure not to spray more than you can clean with one fill of the machine) and don’t allow to dry. Fill machine with hot tap( as hot as you can get) let pre spray dwell for five min or so as you address stains with brush or dog bone scraper( working from outside to inside of stain. Then use the agitator/roller brush to agitate the entire area then hot water extraction can begin. you can also apply concentrate with the machine, allow dwell time, agitate, then run a rinse ( three steps) with the same machine. It is vital to remove as much water and soap as wicking will occur ( soaps left behind and moisture will drive dirt that the machine can’t reach to the surface) to ensure any surfactants left behind are neutralised, you can use white distilled vinegar ( 4-6 ounces to the gal) in your rinse. This will relinquish any further action from the soap, and carpets will stay cleaner longer. Hope this helps.

Same! I was so sick and tired of paying $15-20 for a small bottle of steam cleaner solution at Target and Walmart. That stuff is stupidly overpriced!!!! I'm using this minus the fabric softener - it works great! I'd also suggest putting in a teaspoon of salt in the dirty water tank (not the fresh solution tank) every time you empty the tank as a de-foaming agent - another low cost alternative to store-bought defoamer. Especially if you use a heavier amount of the solution which I am because my carpet is way beyond due for cleaning - I find if it foams up it makes the auto shutoff in the dirty water tank close sooner. Dishwasher detergent - as in detergent for a dishwasher - is also supposed to work though haven't tried that yet. Also - instead of removing the top tank every time to fill it I just pour the water into it mounted in the machine using a large pitcher and a funnel.

I will need to go back and give it a deep clean with my carpet cleaner, but I am liking the current results. I have already told a few friends about this recipe!

Hi from Australia. I have a new puppy and realised it was time to invest in a spot cleaner (not Bissell!). Using your formula is like a miracle. I didn't know that my carpet was so filthy! And my mattress, wow! I never go to bed without showering or without sheets, and my mattress appears to be snowy white. I was wrong! The water that was sucked up was almost as dirty as the carpet! This stuff is brilliant. I can see myself wanting to clean everything with it like a crazy woman. I can't thank you enough for this rich economical formula! The carpet looks like new and so soft. Good on you!!
@jrwheeler813 жыл бұрын
Honestly, this formula works just as well if not even a little bit better than the carpet cleaning solutions that you would pay $15-20 for in the store for a small bottle. We only have one small room with carpet in our house (the rest is all hardwood and tile), which is my office. It's a light colored Berber type carpet and I use this solution about once every 6-8 weeks to clean it with our Bissell steam cleaner. We have four Golden Retrievers who spend a lot of time in my office, so it needs to be clearly fairly regularly.

NOW, IF THE STAIN HAS BEEN PEELED OR BRUSHED AWAY STILL USING THE FORK YOU CAN EITHER USE A PAIR OF HAIR CLIPPERS WITH A CLIPPER GUARD MEASURING THE LENGTH OF YOUR RUG PILE SAY IF YOUR RUG DEPTH OF EACH STRAND OF PILE IS SHORT OR LONG 1/8TH OF AN INCH 5/8TH OF AN INCH OR 1/2 OR 1" DEEP ...USE THAT SAME CLIPPER GUIDE ATTACHED TO YOUR HAIR CLIPPERS ...IF U R NOT SURE START WITH LONGER GUARDS LIKE 1 " GUARD AND WORK YOUR WAY TO SHORTER CLIPPER CUTTING GUARD UNTIL YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE WHEN IT TRIMS OFF THE STAINED PORTION. IF U DONT HAVE CLIPPERS U CAN USE SCISSORS STILL USING THE FORK TO GENTLY LIFT AND GUIDE U TO ONLY TRIM THE VERY TOP PORTION OF RUG.

This cleaner is awesome. But it does not get out all stains they tend to come back. A friend told me that hydrogen peroxide gets blood out and it’s best if you do it when it’s wet or fresh. It has something to do with the hydrogen peroxide eating the protein away. I decided to use this recipe and the topping it with hydrogen peroxide. I let it bubble up for about 5-7 minutes. I then cleaned it up ant is was absolutely amazing.
@gomeztimothy112 жыл бұрын
Oxiclean is basically peroxide 🤷🏽 stains will return if it isn’t rinsed well. Hot tap water and extraction. Always test a stain before using a detergent. Hot tap water applied to stain, white cotton cloth, and some weight. If it transfers, you don’t need much I’d any soap. Stains are alway bigger underneath than at the surface and if you use to much soap, first, dirt will collect to the treated spot quicker( as it is doing what it’s supposed to do) and if you have any kind of above average humidity, it will activate the surfactants and they will start bringing up the soil left, well below the surface ( wicking) that you can’t remove. If surfactants are left behind from lack of rinsing or poor rinsing procedures, the soap will continue to lift deep dirt and stain to the surface until dry ( fast drying is paramount)

Go to Lowes, Home Depot, hardware store or paint supply store and buy a pint, quart can of acetone. Use acetone and lightly saturate nail polish stain. Let sit for about 5 minutes. Using a clean cloth blot the stain inwards towards center of stain. Don’t scrub the stain outwards towards edge of stain since that will only spread the stain. Most of the stain should come up. It won’t remove all the stain.

I did this except I put half the contents of the stuff in one gallon of water and the other half in another gallon.
