Really good video Mark. Good pack. I'm sold ordered one in black.

Thanks! I have one of the earliest 'Sabre' versions of this, doesn't have the Molle or the hydration pouch. Works well but for some reason the hip belt has torn during my last house move. I'm going to try to repair it before I give in to the temptation to buy a new upgraded one! I get what you say about not putting stuff on the outside. I generally agree but I like to put some things on the outside that I want quickly to hand and are going to get wet anyway, like my basha. Also I don't use the bottom section for my sleeping bag. In there goes my cold weather layers, again so I can get to them quickly. As the 'green maggot' is pretty much the last thing I'd want to get out, and the thing I most want to keep dry, it lives at the bottom of my main compartment.

Thanks for the comment. I have the Sabre 45 which I use for minimal bivi camps and tabbing. Brilliant pack, I never use the hip belt even when running with the pack weighing 55lb. With the predator I stuff my tent into the bottom section as it's easy to get out then. I rarely use Waterproofs.

Didn't even know what a load out was, educational too eh!, nice bit of kit plenty of features far too large for me but I will be looking at one of the smaller Karimoor bags for sneaking around in the local woods ... I also agree if it doesn't all fit inside the bag you need a bigger bag, :) Chris

Can't stand people bragging that they can can fit their kit in a 30L pack then you see loads of stuff clipped on the outside, the tent tied to the lid and a sleepmat underneath. I can fit all my kit in the sabre 45 with the plce side pockets (70L) but then I have to really compress it. With this pack it's almost like just dropping it in. Though I've only used it once fully open at 130L and even then I didn't need to 80L would have been fine.

+kevo598 I did a loadout video a couple of years ago but my kit has completely changed since then so I may do another one soon.

+rambler rich I think all the KarrimorSF range are brilliant. I use the Sabre45 for training which is running with up to 55lb in the pack for 10,15, or even 20 miles 3 times a week. If I washed it it'd look brand new.

Hiya, I am so glad you have made this comment. I have been trying to discover whether this bergen will carry around 30kgs+ of weight for my ruck marches. I also do a 12 mile ruck. I am around 25kgs of weight at the moment and need a bigger bergen as I pretty much break all others. was it comfortable to carry? How did the weight feel on your hips? Did the bergen seem too strained at 70lbs? Any feedback would very helpful, Cheers!

tubefreakmuva This bergans will absolutely carry 30kgs+ of gear and not in and way put strain on the actual pack...you is another story. I had this pack for a few years and both loved it and hated it. One of the worst things about this pack is the hip belt. Without going into too much detail about why...it simply doesn’t transfer the weight to your hips as it should for a pack designed to carry this amount of weight. It’s the wrong padding and poorly designed. The padding comes into play in another criticism of the bag...it sits very far off your back which is not what you want. It makes it feel heavier as a result and it’s already a monstrously heavy pack with nothing in it. If you expand the pack to the 130l size it sits even further back which again is not good for long distance carry. I would recommend going for the sabre 75 instead. I swapped for that a few years ago for my Bergan and cannot fault it. I wish I’d gone straight for that and not wasted years with the 80-130. It’s way too heavy and the back system and hip belt need a redesign with less thick and more supportive materials.

@@stormcamper2101I had the same struggle like you with different backpacks. My best choice then was the " Tasmanian Tiger range pack" . I always carry like 20-30 kg, depends on how long I stay outside. my girlfriend got the same now and is happy with it. She also carries up to 25kg (yes kg not pounds!). Try it and you will love it. But try the range pack. What Tasmanian Tiger does best is, transfering the weight to your hips.
