Synopsis : One day, the grandmother and granddaughter goes to the temple. They were worshiping and wandering around the temple. At that moment the granddaughter attains her first period puberty and suffers from her first menstrual pain. How will the grandmother overcome the situation. "Theetu" ...this word has always been misunderstood and is being used in a wrong context. In the olden days girls were to do all the household work, fetch water, take care of kids and lot other work too. They were never given rest. Early moring was the time they went to temples, did alot of pooja etc. But during periods time the body needs rest. So our ancestors gave a name telling that periods is "theetu" and while in periods women shouldn't touch anything, do any work or go anywhere out and especially temple. Not to go out become there weren't any sanitary napkins like now, girls used clothes and moving out with that is unimaginable. One word "theetu", stopped women from doing any work and gave them 3 days to rest enough. But now without even understanding why all these were done, we're using the word "theetu" as if the person has committed a crime. Hope reading this gave u an idea of what it really is🙂
