In today's video, we review the The Christopher Bradley Razor by Karve Shaving Co using Taylor of Old Bond Street Shaving Cream and Proraso.
The Christopher Bradley razor is a classic double edge safety razor that will provide a smooth shave and years of service. All aspects of manufacture are meticulously controlled to provide consistent performance and clean aesthetics.
Most notably, the handle is decorated with a pattern that is inspired by the centuries-old guilloche technique commonly used in watch making. The pattern is cut into the body of the handle, instead of formed, which ensures that all of the edges of the pattern are smooth and clean, while still providing plenty of friction for wet fingers.
The razor is available with any one of 3 different solid comb (SC) plates, each with increasing aggressiveness, to tailor your shave to your face and style. From least aggressive to most aggressive, the SC plates range from B, C, or D.
B - gap = 0.73mm / exposure = zero
C - gap = 0.85mm / exposure = positive 0.09mm
D - gap = 0.98mm / exposure = positive 0.13mm
The razor is complete and only requires a blade to be ready to use.

Karve rhodium plated!! i must spread the word in my local shave group. I have used the karve with a D solid bar plate, a bit aggressive for me, but a grate shaver, comfortable and efficient.

The Red tip is the vintage razor that works the best for me and I got a Karve SB with the C plate. I find the shaves very similar, efficient with little to no blade feel.

I’m a school teacher without much money. I want a new high quality razor. I’m looking at the shaving kit and an open comb plate. I’ve never spent more than $ 40.00 dollars for a razor. Most of mine are old Gillettes. Is a razor like this worth the price? I tent to vary when I shave I might go 4 days or shave two days in a row. I’ve also thought about the Rockwell stainless kit. What are your thoughts?

Variety is the spice of life. Old Gillettes are great, Rockwell's are popular. Karve are higher quality than both. But they will all do the job.

Nice review Matt💈💈 Yeah, I've had a Karve brass original razor since they came out, long handle, A-D plates. I reach for the C-D plates exclusively, sweet spot for me also👌 Rhodium plated would be killer, shines like a star. Something about TOBS Sandalwood shave cream just screams "Gentleman", a refined scent and great performance. The aftershave splash and cologne are great too. Super video again as always👍 Enjoy!

Had seen this razor a lot and thought it had a bit of hype that maybe it wouldn't live up to. Nice to see it delivers. Suggestion. A small series, or single video, on the worst shaving products, razors, etc that you've ever come across. Could go into detail of what went wrong if it has an interesting story or keep it simple and short.

Hello Matt, I use the brass 3 inch Karve razor and have the B,C,and the D close comb plates. I prefer the B and C plates best. I'm considering the aluminum Karve razor, probably the 3.25 inch handle with the B plate. Please give me your thoughts on the brass razor and the differences between the coated razor. Thank you

Greetings from Montréal, Québec, Canada. First time seeing your videos about 'Safety Razor wet shaving' I really enjoy them, very educational. I did like your video about the WWII Razor kit Replica, I am really tempted to buy one as it reminds of my father who fought the WWII. I remember he had an adjustable blade razor...probably Gillette (1950/60!?! Just finished watching Martin Scorsese short movie 'The Big Shave' and finished with shivers just to see his cuts...it reminded me of my teen years until 7 years ago with a 'Twin blade' disposable razor, wich gave me cuts, because I have a 'Sensitive skin', but saved my life with the Gillette Fusion 5 blades. My question now is...IF I were to use such razor, wich one would be best suited for sensitive skin? Weishi (for you is too soft) for me? As for Parker 91R/ Edwin Jagger DE89/ Gillette Super Speed 1940 style' are perfect for you SooooWich one should I go with? Looking fforward for your answer!!! Have a great rest of week and weekend!!!

willis white It’s pronounced ‘carve’, like a turkey or to be more to the point as in to carve a turn on a surf or skateboard. Brand was created by skateboarders. The multi coloured laminate in their brush handles is due to them coming from skateboard production.

I have the Karve open comb brass 3.5 inch handle and the D-plate and it's basically perfect! The D-plate has a blade gap just a little larger than my Game Changer and while I may purchase the E-plate the D feels the way I wanted the shave to feel so the E is more out of curiosity. I also thought about getting the stainless steel version but I really like brass BUT rhodium plating is intriguing ... do the threads get plated too? If so does it wear there or does it become overly tight? TOBS is awesome! I used up Jermyn Street and replaced it with Eton College both are Great! For me they are the goto scuttle shave creams so get most use during the winter when it's cold and hot shave creams are the BESTEST !!!
