Definitely don't find offensive, it actually makes me laugh thinking about me and my friend I made in the mental hospital running about being little shits. We had fun together, of course it was a bit dark and a million times more serious , and we got in trouble for it but at least the video shows the humorous side of being sectioned. Absolutely love this, not offended at all like I thought I'd be. Have loved Kasabian since I was 6 and they have never disappointed me! Well done lads

Brilliant. It's cuckoos nest. Can't wait for the album. I've pre ordered it. I'm a mental health nurse and when I first started this is what the wards were like (yes I am that old) so funny, and sadly accurate.
@extermin8or37 жыл бұрын
michelle88960 I take it you've seen some mental health charity has had ago at kasabian about this video. Apparently the word psycho isn't allowed to be used at all anymore and they feel this music video will set back all the work on mental health done over decades. Because we can't just view something as it's meant to be.... A non serious music video.
@michelle889607 жыл бұрын
I can appreciate what they are saying. But I think this video is based on 50's and 60's mental health hospitals. It was a horrible time for patients then and cruel practises. Also, to be honest, mental health in the UK is really struggling as half the budget has been cut. As a result suicidal patients are being kept waiting for weeks before they see a professional, and a lot do commit suicide. As for the word 'psycho', you're right it isn't used anymore, sociopathic personality disorder is what is used now. Or psychosis. Psycho went out with horrible words like cripple, spastic etc. But this is a music video, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. You could compare Green Day's Basket Case in the same way. But we have all used the word 'psycho' to describe certain people. I have worked in mental health for nearly 40 years, and believe me there are more mentally unstable people walking the streets than in MH clinics. I did watch a documentary about psychopathy, and apparently if you do an MRI scan of their brain, it is very different to other, I hate the word, 'normal' people. Sorry if I've gone off on a tangent, but take it for what it is, a video based on Cuckoos Nest.
@rupeizluv7 жыл бұрын
as someone who is diagnosed with mental illnesses - I fucking LOVED this song. the video clearly pays homage to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with the setting and structure.
@lemsip2077 жыл бұрын
So true especially those with cluster B personality disorders commonly found at the top in politics, business and the mainstream media. If you have anxiety, depression or OCD you can lead a normal life with support so don't need to be in hospital. Even for those with bipolar disorder except when they stop taking medication. Narcissism is growing in society even if it's not clinical as more and more people are mirroring the attitudes and behaviours of narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths. You can have too much self esteem as well as too little self esteem though Oprah Winfrey would claim those who appear to have too much self esteem really have too little and vice versa in the church. I used to think it was the way to be from reading motivational books, observing successful people at work who are also very controlling, watching television, going to fundamentalist churches and reading tabloid newspapers. Best book I've read on the subject is 'Zero Degrees of Empathy' by Simon Baron-Cohen. Then there are also the books by Thomas Sheridan.
@lemsip2077 жыл бұрын
It still is a horrible time for patients with staff ignoring them most of the time on the wards. There is nothing to do at weekends as there is no OT then and the library there is closed. Whitchurch Hospital in Cardiff has been recently closed down thank goodness. Terrible design and the patients didn't have their own rooms only cubicles. On some wards the women had to walk through the men's ward to get to the day room and kitchen.

so if I liked their albums prior to this one and then thought this was shit, that doesn't make me a fan because I'm disappointed by their material? You don't have to blindly love everything they put out to be a fan fella
@ZzMattizZ7 жыл бұрын
You have the album already? well i don't. There's nothing wrong with liking their previous work better than the new stuff. But there's a difference between disliking something and just call it shit because it's different. I think this song is just ok, but not even close to other Kasabian songs, i haven't heard the rest of the album yet so i can't judge it. When eez-eh came out i thought i wouldn't like 48:13 but i was wrong, there are a lot of amazing songs in it. I think a fan would give the band a chance, i thought you were just hating, sorry if i was wrong.
@U2DU7 жыл бұрын
First of all I didn't claim I had the album and listened to it. The rest of the album might actually be good, but if this is the lead single that's supposed to give a taste to the rest of the album, it sounds like it's gonna be a tepid and stale album. I'm not calling it shit because it's different, I'm calling it shit because to me it's a shit half-arsed pop song.

Love it! Such a nice sound. From what I gather of the visual prospect of the video, it appears to describe Psycho as in Psychotic, rather than Psycho as in Psychopathic. I'm looking at this from a serious perspective of course, whereas the song & video or just having fun with the concept. Definitely saving this to faves.
