Kasanda land controversy - Residents of Manyogaseka want land titles

Residents of Manyogaseka in the Central district of Kassanda have asked relevant agencies to issue them with land titles to enable them develop themselves.
This follows claims that the land they currently occupy in their 3,000s is a forest reserve.
The land in question is said to be a former state forest called Kyabeggo covering 27 square kilometers.
Uganda Human Rights Commissioner Simeo Nsubuga supports the idea of issuing land titles to public schools, churches, hospitals and residents.
