This piece was composed during my studies in the University of Bristol, in their contemporary music composition program. The professor assigned me to compose a piece for solo cello, and I was super enthusiastic about it!
In Bahasa Indonesia, the word kasar (kha-SAR) translates to rough, or unpleasant to touch. I chose this name because this piece is meant to be as rough as the title - its aggressive rhythms and percussive style lends itself to a unique piece of solo cello music.
