Green used to contain arsenic and would kill people. Clothes, wallpapers, artificial flowers, whatever was dyed green was a danger. Seeing little green birds around a royal purple (a color of royalty because purple dye was very expensive to produce) bird made sense to me. It's like little death birds flying around, wrapping him up for the afterlife. Cute!

Sorry Kasey, but mummies werent only for royalty. In the early egyptian period, the practice was limited to the royalty and the rich but in the late egyptian period, it was common for everyone to be mummified. infact, most of the mummies that were brought back to Europe and completely desecrated were of commoners. And those silly victorians were consuming some of them thinking they will imbibe their fortunes or something. Also, mummy brown paint was made form them. yeah, gotta say, Victorians creep me out more than the mummies. great art though :) The bird reminds me of victorian mummy unwrapping parties (yeah they were a real thing)

(This comment is relevant, I swear!) I used to draw My Little Pony adoptables and I always offered to make them for my son. He doesn't rp or anything so it was basically just drawing a pony the colours and style my son asked for. A month or so ago he asked me to make him a jack-o-lantern pony. The one I drew him is a little scarier than yours, Kasey, but I really love how pumpkin horses look!! The one I made had fire for it's mane and tail, and random holes just kinda everywhere with fire coming out of them too... including the hair and eyes. To make it pop, I did the pony in pencil crayon but the fire is done in pearlescent/metallic watercolour! It turned out SO COOL! If I ever post it, I'll tag you ^-^.

My Ghost Kitty backstory: On Halloween, a decade back, Kitty saw his human dress up for the occasion. Feeling left out, Kitty clawed up a sheet so he, too, could dress up. His human, bucket in hand, stepped out the door giddily, bidding goodbye to Kitty. Kitty made his way out an open window to chase after his human, but the wind blew the sheet, blocking his view as he ran into oncoming traffic. Kitty woke up, slightly more transparent. Ever since then, Kitty won't let his human take off his costume in fear of them finding out his secret. But every so often, some of Kitty's treats will be found floating through the air, just to land right in Kitty's mouth.
