Kashgar Song and Dance Troupe: Kashgar Sanam （喀什赛奶母）

Kashgar is a city in the province of Xinjiang in western China, which borders numerous countries in Central Asia. It is a predominantly Uyghur city. Uyghur's are a Muslim ethnic group.
This piece is called "Kashgar Sanam". Sanam is one of the traditional forms of Uyghur dance. There are regional variations of it. This is the Kashgar version. Originally a celebratory dance done at weddings and gatherings, this is a professional version choreographed for the stage.
It was performed on 8/11/2015 by the Kashgar Song and Dance Troupe for a group of dance teachers from all over China, who had gone on a 20 day trip to Xinjiang to learn the dance forms of the different ethnic minorities there.
