To most of us Kashmir is a distant place, veiled in mystery, caught up in turmoil. But it is truly heaven on Earth. It is one place I have always dreamt of visiting, specially after viewing the TV serial Gul , Gulshan Gulfaam .I know of Kashmir only through its exquisite wood craft , papier mache handicrafts, the superbly beautiful embroidered shawls and carpets, To own Kashmir's hand crafted pieces was like owning a piece of history..I treasure the wooden trays my mother was given by a friend, who had been stationed in Srinigar in peaceful times. Kashmir also came alive for me in food writer Mariam Reishi's ode to Wazwan, Rogan Josh and Yahni. Now I see a different Kashmiri... having lost its beautiful wood carved homes and replaced by soul less concrete structures. I felt deep sadness on seeing your mother's original home replaced by the present structure...that change is heart wrenching. But what remains to this day, and of utmost importance is that it's people still retain all warmth that is matchless. Long live the people of Kashmir.

I am keenly following your series. It has brought out flood of memories. Reliving my childhood. The lady with whom you were staying was my senior in school. The world is such a small place. I had traveled back in 2007 and was dismayed to see flyover and so much construction. It really broke my heart. But no day passes when I don't think about that lost childhood

Totally beautiful. My dream is to find culture and people beyond comman cultural assumption. Stunningly beautiful..So Abhishek finally you succeeded in locating your Ancestral house..No doubt it must've been a difficult job but again where there's a will there's a way...As rightly said that Kashmir is just a home away from home. People seems to be very hospitable and decent..They welcome you with open arms and behave exactly the way they are.. Feeling of enjoyment and happiness sinks not only on first visit but it's when one visits the place again and again..Too good Abhishek....

This is very different from the usual content available in KZbin! Love the soothing mood created by the visuals. Just one suggestion. Please keep the accompanying music tracks volume a bit low. The sound gets jarring if one set the volume at a level where one can able to hear you properly. Your choice of music track is great 😊

Bro i liked your all series..you are doing great job. I liked kashmiri people and their hospitality . But this is also a fact that particular religion has controlled it now fully so people have developed bit fear. You mom's house for an example is now property of some other religion. Many ancient temple's of Shiva are ruined.. Shaivism started from kashmir but now only few places are left. Looking at all these incidents (including kashmiri pandit movement) ppl from different religions feels bad and dey dont visit or have fear in visiting Kashmir which is a Jannat . Hope all will be fine one day.

Whatever series I see on Kashmir it only shows the good side of it, happy people etc. But no one shows the oppression that these people are going thru. It's never a justice if we only show cherry picked moments of Kashmir. People go there, have fun and just pretend everything is normal. These people were locked for almost 1+ years recently, they were cut off, there is a lot of violence done to them by forces and militants, all this can't be ignored and can't be hide.
