However, most of the people I meet do not know the history of Kashmir and why it has developed into such a heated issue between two nuclear armed nations. In today's video I very simply explain the history of Kashmir not only for Pakistanis but for Indians as well. Independent Kashmir is politically and practically not feasible due to trust deficit between India-Pak and India-China. Independence would mean withdrawal of Indian and Pak forces. I mean things don't work just by reading the books and articles available, but you have to apply that knowledge with sensible logic and some common sense. the total strength of indian army is 1.4 million, of which 7 lakh troops are only deployed in the kashmir valley region or in the Loc region of just 720 km. then who is guarding the International border with pakistan of 2300 km, the line of actual control with china(approx 3500km)? just 7 lakh soldiers are enough to guard it? there are also troops with various army formations across the country, troops deployed in UN missions. Book Buddy..... You covered only 60%. When Pakistan & India became 2 countries on 14/15 August 1947, Kashmir was an Independent Nation. India didn't enter Kashmir. But Pakistan did on 22 October 1947, Pakistan's Pashtun militias crossed the border of the state.These local tribal militias and irregular Pakistani forces moved to take the capital city of Srinagar, but upon reaching Baramulla, they took to plunder and stalled. Maharaja Hari Singh made a plea to India for assistance, and help was offered, but it was subject to his signing of an Instrument of Accession to India. Following the accession of the Kashmir to India on 26 October 1947, Indian troops were airlifted to Srinagar. Regarding plebiscite these three steps has to be followed, In the first step, Pakistan was asked to use its "best endeavours" to secure the withdrawal of all tribesmen and Pakistani nationals, putting an end to the fighting in the state. In the second step, India was asked to "progressively reduce" its forces to the minimum level required for keeping law and order. It laid down principles that India should follow in administering law and order in consultation with the Commission, using local personnel as far as possible. In the third step, India was asked to ensure that all the major political parties were invited to participate in the state government at the ministerial level, essentially forming a coalition cabinet. India should then appoint a Plebiscite Administrator nominated by the United Nations, who would have a range of powers including powers to deal with the two countries and ensure a free and impartial plebiscite. Book buddy i would like to add here one thing that if Kashmir get independence her survival would be difficult because as the majority is Muslim and certainly there is not any shadow of doubt that Kashmiris will be more inclined to Pakistan rather than India that will further antagonise Muslim and Hindus within Kashmir. The end result would be fatal. so world community should bring a viable solution like those district where Muslims are in majority should be annexed with Pakistan and those where Hindus are in majority should be included in India like Ladkh, where Hindus are in majority. otherwise Kashmir will be nuclear flash point between two nuclear armed countries.

The only solution is stopping the wish for living in an Islamic environment or Hindu environment. There needs education system that teach to live in co existance with multi faith. Education system that pulls people from religious division away towards public service, humanitarian goals, development, business. Be it modern school or Madrasa, all needs to teach co existance, tolerance and brotherhood. As of now POK can stay POK, IOK can stay IOK, just mentality and focuses need to be changed. Dear your constitution is distorted. When the supreme court of india gave its verdict that both article 370 and 35-A cannot be repealed, modi went against its own supreme court. And the "FORCED" Instrument of accession's 7th pre-condition categorically states that the constitution of india is ineligible to decide kashmiri laws. Therefore it is not only illegal as per UN resolutions but also india (Given the ISC verdict).

Article 370 was a temporary article as it was mentioned in Indian constitution before it's revocation, you can check this! Point 2 is just plain wrong. Obviously Article 370 is temporary as it was thought that a plebiscite deciding the future of Kashmir would be done. If that is not done, Article 370 should stay. Kashmiri people think that if Article 370 is revoked, the character of the region will change and their own voice will never be heard in case of any eventual settlement.
