People always think of islam when talking about kasmir,but they seems to forget the glorious and resistance Hindu history of kasmir, how many of you knew that Kashmir has its own puran( a religious epic of Hindus) and the whole shavites hinduism was developed in Kashmir ..,no hate to the islamic culture of Kashmir ,it does add it's own beauty but we shouldn't forget the original culture of Kashmir and kasmiri pandits and their struggles to keep their culture alive... Let's hope for a more inclusive Kashmir

The announcer is lay. I had a job in Kashmir understand the Valley very well. Kashmir Valley is technically Central Asia and greater Kashmir touches Wakhan and is next to Tajikistan. Most experts agree that the Aryan Race is indigenous to the Northwestern Indian subcontinent (of which Kashmir is a part) and regions of touching Central Asia. The split between Rigvedic Sanskrit and Avestan Persian from a parent proto-Aryan language occurred in this region. Kashmiri a Daradic language is linked to both Avestan and Rigvedic though the latter two are very similar. Most Muslims living the Valley are converts from Aryan Kashmiri Hindus, thus the Pandits and Muslims share ever thing except religion. Kashmir and regions of Central Asia are exactly the same people but Kashmir has more influence on Central Asia which is evident to this day in Buddhas in many regions of Central Asia. The plain truth this is it.

Great Video, Great recipes, Great refresher on history. Awesome that despite its own constraints, Jammu gave refuge to Kashmiri cuisine. Otherwise even a renowned chef like Ranvir Brar could not get his Kashmiri Pandit Roganjosh right. Although he treated it with respect, he did not know the difference between saunf/badyane and sonth powder it might be fun watching his amateurish attempt as compared to the awesome lady in this video.
