Thanks for uploading this video. I left Mirpur during unfortunate happenings on 25 November 1947. I recognise the Bavali. I appreciate the commentary about peaceful living of Hindus and Muslims in the days bygone. Was glad to see the Mazaar of Pir Shah in very good condition. Wish if same would be true about Raghunath Mandir a heritage site. We can raise funds if someone there can take up this. It has nothing to do with religion. It is preserving our common heritage.

A good try but many inaccuracies. Mirpur was actually founded in 1642 and not 700 years ago. My tenth ancestor Hazrat Qazi FatheUllah Siddiqui RA was the one of the first inhabitants and he was appointed as the chief justice of Mirpur. He made the first Jamia Masjid and madrassa . He was also the son-in-law of the sultan (King) Fathey Khan Gaggar RA who was the eldest brother of Sultan Mera Khan Gaggar RA. In 1642 the sultan Fathey Khan Gaggar asked my ancestor to name the new city to which the chief justice replied call it Mirpur after your brother Mera Khan you already have a city named after you called Fatheypur. The city was than named Mirpur and yes the first mizar shown was that of Sultan Mera Khan Gaggar RA where the elder was talking. My ancestor passed away in 1677 and he too had a mizar shareef in Mirpur and he remained there until 1984 whereupon he was dug out and transferred to Gulhar Shareef Kotley. He was found to be completely intact as if he had been buried only the day before. He had remained buried in mirpur for 307 years the last 17 years was spent under water. Barrister Talat Siddiqui
