Thank you for your thoughtful and erudite explanation. Your kindness and gentle care for non-Jewish seekers are obvious and can easily lead a non-Jew to know HaShem. Again, thank you.

Thank you Rabbi for these lessons. As a lifelong Christian who is strongly considering conversion to Judaism, I’m finding your videos for Noahides to be very helpful and encouraging. Thank you so much

Isaiah 66 seems to say anyone eating unclean will be thrown in the pit. This passage is why we choose to eat clean.

Greetings, Certain creatures were created to assist in maintaining the ecosystems they exist in. ie. Shell Fish= clean and filter the water(bottom dwellers) Pig= Clean and filter the ground(Soil). Seagulls,(Both) Vultures,Prey Birds= ground. So in essence its also 2 fold: Dont kill and eat whats keeping you alive(pollution control) and if you do eat certain animals, do it righteously so as to NOT torture. Note: Adam and Eve only ate vegetables.

Dear Rabbi, love your teaching and this subject is of intense interest to me and apparently to a good many others. None of us can seem to find the "next lesson" you mention at the end of this video. If it was decided that a next lesson was unnecessary or for whatever reason not a good idea at this time, can someone post a brief video stating that a "next lesson" is currently not available and might not be very soon or ever. That would be very helpful. Thank you so much for all you do : )

Follow yeshu all you like, the problem comes with deifying him. That is why we recite Shema, the greatest Commandment according to your yeshu. Torah laws are only for the jew, not the gentile. The nations never agreed to the covenant like our forefathers, and therefore, do not carry the full weight of Torah. This is nothing to be envious of, non-jews can live very righteous lives if they knew what is expected of them, which is what this Rabbi is teaching.
@shawnkovac10424 жыл бұрын
@Shimon Mizrachi, You express the reason that Jews are to keep torah while gentiles don't is because of Jews' forefathers who agreed to keep it. And in another KZbin comment to this same video, you share that Yeshua (Jesus) was a Pharisee. Are you aware that Yeshua also taught the concept that not all native born ancestor is a child of Abraham? John 8:39, "They answered and said to Him, 'Abraham is our father.' Jesus said to them, 'If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.'" Shimon, what is your perspective on who is a true Jew? do you agree with Yeshua's teaching as written in this passage, that not all who are born a Jew is a Jew? Do you differ in your perspective on this or hold the same perspective? Or might you believe that one who follows Abraham's teachings and keeps the Torah is a Jew more so than one who has the genealogy? On a related note, Ruth, the former Moabite, was she a Jew or a Moabite? both maybe? Or did she switch from being a Moabite to a Jew when she showed her utter commitment to Naomi, her mother-in-law? Do you hold a 'once a jew, always a jew' perspective? Can a Jew walk away from the Way of Life, from the Torah, and then a Jew is no longer a Jew at that point? I would like to know your perspective on this matter. (I ask about Ruth's status because King David is a descendant of Ruth, and the Torah teaches us that no Moabite even to the 10th generation shall be accepted in the congregation [Deut 23:3].) Shalom!

If Kashrut is really the word of some all knowing deity, then why wouldn’t he have told us to boil water before drinking it to kill harmful bacteria? Should that be an important ?
@SimonCohn566 жыл бұрын
Maybe there was no pollution ...?
@shawnkovac10424 жыл бұрын
Maybe because it is not *super* important to boil water because not all water is polluted. :P Washing our hands is also important, but where are torah commandments to wash our hands before eating? But washing our hands is a *good* idea, but not *super* important. Not all important things are included in the torah. But many are. It is important to know that 3*4=12 but i don't find that in the torah either.

If He had to explain everything He told us to do we would be there all day before anything got done Can we still eat chicken? As far as I am aware, YHWH commands for our own benefit. Its only the other guy that goes against what He commands, to do us harm. So basically all we gotta do is exactly what He says and nothing (not much) more? Ok I'm in Praise Almighty YHWH, the most merciful and patient

Thank you rabbi. I am an Episcopalian by upbringing and i know we serve the same God . Some Christians say that Jesus removed the laws of kosher from us. I have also heard some Christians say that kosher laws also apply to christians. I have to admit I love shell fish though. What is your opinion on this matter?

Frank, Your thinking is reversed. G-d does not belong to a group of people but rather a group of people belong to G-d. We, the jewish people, have a covenant with G-d, an eternal contract if you will, to do His Torah (teachings & laws). And though my assumption may be wrong, the statement "Pharisees from hell" leads me to believe you are christian. Did you know yeshu (jesus) was a pharisee? Matthew 23:2 clearly shows he supports Rabbinic laws. Your argument is invalid.
@shawnkovac10424 жыл бұрын
@Shimon Mizrachi, When you say 'yeshu (jesus) was a pharisee', how do you define a pharisee? do you consider a pharisee to essentially be an 'orthodox jew' today? or how would you relate these two categorizations? (I mention the 'othodox jew' category because it seems to me that the pharisees in the new testament most closely resemble orthodox jews today, from what i can tell.)
@shimonmizrachi196611 жыл бұрын
Torah laws should only be upheld by people obligated to doing them, because then they will fear them because they understand they have to answer to HaShem in regards to them. If someone haphazardly takes on the laws and off, he can desecrate HaShem's name unknowingly in public, which is one of the greatest offenses. And someone who is not obligated to the laws and does them DOES NOT merit any special blessing or spirit or anything of that nature. This does not benefit anyone to do this.
@mashahdawab6 жыл бұрын
Are you guys all just used to saying things and not proving it with scripture.... It's kind of hard to find good lessons with people actually using Torah.... Instead of talking and giving opinion instead of reading the law...

Hi Shimon, Idk why you are saying Jesus is a Pharisee, when the Jewish people deny Jesus divinity. If Jesus and the Prophet John, the Baptist says Jesus is the beloved Son of God, you should believe it, especially if you think Jesus is a Pharisee. Pharisees would not want to commit blasphemy. Honestly, if you think a real Jew is from the mother who is a Jew, they better do a DNA test. Adultery does occur so it is illogical to define Judiasm based on race because many Jews are secular\agnostics.
@shimonmizrachi196611 жыл бұрын
Where do Ashkenazi come in? That does not make sense. Please google ashkenazi and rethink your question. If you come from a family of converts, or you're an orthodox convert yourself, then you now belong to Israel, the jewish people, and you are jewish 100%. Other than that, if your mother is not jewish then you are not jewish. Period.

Matrilineal descent is completely Rabbinic !!! Please educate me if I'm wrong .. Where does Torah , Neviim , ketuvim, teach this ? Ephraim and Manashe were gentiles? Why do we as Jews pray the blessings of Ephraim and Manashe over our children if these men didn't have a Jewish mother ( non-Jews ).???
@speakingconstitution10 жыл бұрын
Shimon Mizrachi Not all were "Jews" at the base of Mt Sinai, it was a mixed multitude, those of the nations that were joined to the 12 tribes in which Judah was but one such as Caleb who was not a native of Judah, but was grafted into Judah. The Torah was given to the native as well as the stranger as the entire purpose of God choosing Israel was to be a light to the nations to teach God's Torah to all nations so to bring all nations back to God. One who confesses YHWH as their God, Yeshua as their Messiah and the Torah of Mosheh as the written instructions of YHWH that YHWH gave for their instruction is walking in His righteousness, these are also Israel, not by confession of a religion, but by confession of ones faith in our Father in Heaven and His Son, our Messiah, Period. Exo 14:13 And Mosheh said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the deliverance (Yeshua) of יהוה, which He does for you today. For the Mitsrites whom you see today, you are never, never to see again.

Non jews should ignore jews . The one God set his spirit into one man a perfect sacrifice for the law. YesHUaH from then on Jesus is the sabath Sabath is for Man a rest From food a rest from law a rest from slavery to religion and a rest from politics. Not one great rabbi has been born in 2000 years for each of them without exception has rejected The Messiah
@shawnkovac10424 жыл бұрын
Hmm, 'non jews should ignore jews', eh? Do you know that YesHUaH was a Jew? So if non Jews should ignore Jews, then all non-Jews should also ignore YesHUaH? Do you know that Gentiles are grafted in? The tree is Israel. Jews are a branch of that tree (the house of Judah). Jew is a short form for Judah. So non-Jews that are grafted in, are to ignore a branch that they are to be grafted onto? How does your perspective reconcile this, Bill?
