It's called Turmeric.. why so many people pronounce it 'tumeric' ... this is another Aluminium to Aluminum case I guess

If that is called authentic Indian food, then our spicy chicken chowmein is an authentic Chinese food.
@booyaka10510 жыл бұрын
What's authentic Indian food then, care to explain?
@utsav030910 жыл бұрын
booyaka105 Well I said it is "not authentic" that doesn't mean it is "bad". When you add olive oil to any Indian food, then there goes the authenticity out of the widow. And I love Spicy Chicken Chow Mein btw
@booyaka10510 жыл бұрын
utsav0309 Okay, and I never said you meant "bad" when you said "not authentic". I was genuinely confused as to what WOULD constitute authentic Indian food is this didn't, but now I see you were talking about the olive oil.

+booyaka105 -- Let me explain you in a little bit detail -- Essentially there is not one sole authentic Indian food that ALL Indians can identify with. For example -- for the Britishers -- the common staple is like fish & chips, Brits can identify easily with it. Similarly, for Americans it's Steak, Hotdogs & Bacon. However when you talk about India, the cuisine here is ridiculously diverse. It would take someone at least 2-3 years to try out every single Indian dish in existence from every part of India, I mean I am exaggerating a bit, but you get the point. And us Indians, well, we usually identify ourselves only with our native/local food. For example a person from a Southern State of India wouldn't normally identify with Sarson Ka Saag(google it up). Similarly a person from a North Eastern State wouldn't normally identify with Khaman Dhokla(google it up). By "identify", I mean it's not their staple, so it's hard for them to relate with it with as much ease. The sheer diversity here makes it hard to relate just one standard set of food with the entirety of India. However, in itself the food in the video is -- obviously -- Indian, but it's not COMPLETE INDIAN CUISINE. What you are getting in pretty much most Indian restaurants all over the world is essentially a slice of Indian cuisine, which is probably like 10% of the total cuisine, but missing out on a fuck load of other epic stuff! :D Now, lastly -- as far as authenticity goes -- there's no such hard and fast rule you know. Some use mustard oil for cooking, some use coconut oil, while some use sunflower or soybean oil. It depends. You can prepare multiple Indian dishes with different types of oils, the base remains the same. The taste may slightly vary as some oils have their individual aroma. Although a point could be made that sunflower oil is the more commonly used one is most Indian restaurants in India. So people end up treating that as the authentic one, but tbh it's just oil. The spices & herbs are what makes it authentic IMO.

Tandoori is served only with a chutney and salad (which mostly contains onions, cabbage, tomatoes marinated in spices), never ever with rice and curry.

This is not authentic Indian food.. Olive oil.. No way... It should have clarified butter or Coconut, Mustard or Groundnut oil among various other oils.. Also Chicken Tikka Masala is not an authentic Indian dish. Its concocted by west. Most people in India have never even heard of this dish...

+Sidhartha ash Once again, They are talking about "Chicken Tikka Masala" which is cooked in Gravy. Not an authentic Indian dish. Never heard or seen people eating Chicken tikka dipped & cooked in gravy... What we actually have is "Chicken Tikka" which is cooked on a grill using skillet on open fire or Tandoor.... No gravy there in final preparation.......
@sidin41678 жыл бұрын
I didn't get your point...but ok☺
@BlackMambo58 жыл бұрын
+HailStonE -- You haven't seen it becasue you're probably not from India? Because I've seen it just about everywhere I've been in India, and I'm an Indian. Same goes with Paneer(cottage-cheese) Tikka and Paneer Tikka Masala. Both Paneer and Chicken Tikka can be served as dry appetizers or if you wish for a gravy based version that's where the modified dishes come in. It's pretty common across India, especially if a restaurant is serving North-Indian/Punjabi-style food.
