This stuck out to me so much as well, in a good way. Seemed very Japanese. And like the moments where one who hadn’t gone yet would say “oh man, that looked hard” and the other would respond “oh yeah, you’ve got to keep your speed up and blah-blah” instead of just hoping they mess up. Great to see

Because it is a fine omakase to enjoy the way its presented to you and not a cheesy american fast food (tv show) binge. Its about honoring the quality and npt about the quantatity. You will be more hyped when the next one will be presented.

Watching Kasso makes me so happy. Hayate comes from Osaka Daggers & Chopper was his mentor. Funnily enough, Chopper took part in Unbeatable Banzuke in the 90's (it's nice to see 2 different generation now & then)

Ok, so this is fuckin’…just great. The skateboarding, the courses, the clear camaraderie between the skaters despite the fact that it’s still a ‘competition’, and the little things that are windows into a different culture, in this case Japanese culture, which has always fascinated me. I was just getting into skateboarding and this was oddly perfect timing. Hayate and Rinku are just on another level wow. Hayate’s grip tape looks really stylish.

I think it's probably impossible for men and women to compete on the same course because of the difference in muscle strength between men and women. Either a new course needs to be built or there needs to be an all-women race. Also, since this is the first competition, it may be experimental, so female skaters may join in the future.
