KastKing Zephyr 1000 SFS Spinning Reel | First Impression Review | New Reel

Hey guys! Welcome back to another video.
This is a brand new spinning reel by KastKing and we thought that we should review the Zephyr 1000 SFS Spinning Reel and give our first impression. There are many things we like about it and some we don't. The color scheme is probably our favorite since we can pair it with the Daiwa Presso Rod which is one of our favorite fishing rods. We also want to make sure that you guys know that this review is not sponsored by anyone and we bought this fishing reel with our own money and wanted to give our own personal unbiased review. Hopefully soon we will be able to give a more detailed review and let you guys know how well it performs!

Did you have a chance to fish with it? I bought a kastking trolling reel a few years ago and while it does most things fine the drag goes from too little too with just 5 degrees of rotation. It makes it really hard to set the drag while fighting a fish. It also means that it is easy to bump the star wheel and change the drag accidently. How is the drag on this one?

This one doesn’t have the same issues. But it’s definitely a budget option so you can’t really expect the nicer/smoother drag. But for the price its better than some but worse than others

The reels are molded from a carbon reinforced composite. Carbon fiber is a composite. When a company says carbon fiber or composite they are talking about the same thing.

It’s a hex handle so just unscrew the knob and switch it.
