Heads up: if you own a 3000 do not buy the 4000. It is exactly identical to the 3000. The spool is about 1mm larger in diameter and I am dubious that the line capacity is appreciably higher.

@@canidsong if you go to their website you are correct, it isn't appreciably bigger but the 4000 holds about 30 yards more of the same diameter line (supposedly).

@@WorldsOkayestFisherman I am happy to say this reel held it's own against those kings. I brought home several, in addition to the two I gave away, plus a lot of absolute monster chum. Nothing landed over 25lb but the big ones I lost broke me off or threw the hook, aside from the one which actually straightened it. No fault of the reel and it still feels brand new, drag included. The line capacity didn't come up. I got close a couple times but never got spooled with 20lb mono and the 30lb braid I moved up to the second half of the trip.

This vs the zephyr sfs reel? Not seeing a big difference except the added gold and orange accents on the sfs. Looking for a 1000 reel for my presso rod 8’. Great video 👍.

The difference between this and the SFS is the SFS is a little bit lighter by about 0.6 ounces and has a shallower spool since it is for finesse baits and you don't need to bomb cast or expect a lunker to try to spool you. The SFS also only has 10# of drag vs the Black which is 18# of drag for the 1000 series. There's a 3rd model that is the Zephyr Carbon and is even lighter but has a full spool and 10+1 bearings and 18# of drag.

Yes, the bearings are double shielded so they are saltwater ready. Also the drag system is sealed with a rubber gasket to prevent water from entering.

I really like the SFS zephyr, Way better and lighter and love the shallow spool buttttt wish it has gold and black accents instead of the orange.

Hi sorry this may be a silly question. My son wanted to get his dad a rod and reel. The hubs likes to fish for Bass, Blue gill, Catfish, Trout and anything that he may find out here. So my son picked this Zephyr 5’0” mod fast UL Power reel but my question is which is the best reel to get? The KastKing Zephyr Spinning Reel 1000, 2000, 3000 or 4000? What’s the difference? Thank you

Great question, product link is below! What I would actually go with, especially since it is an Ultralight (UL) rod is the Zephyr 500 green (part number KRLSPNZP-S5GN). It will match the color of the rod exactly! The reason I say go with the 500 is that an Ultralight (UL) rod like the one your son bought is usually for small fish like bluegill, crappie, and trout and maybe the occasional small bass. The number (500, 1000, 2000 etc.) Is just describing the size of the reel and the amount of line it holds (bigger number = more line). If you want slightly more line capacity and the ability to handle slightly bigger fish then the 1000 size would be another great choice. Either way, I still say go with the green color because it will exactly match the rod your son bought! Thanks for watching and hope I helped! kast.vip/kcb4u

@@WorldsOkayestFisherman thanks so much! So with the 1000 it can hold a more heavier bass? See with the 500 I thought it was for strictly ice fishing 🤦🏻‍♀️ so this helps tremendously. I for sure and getting the like green. So my son can gift to the hubs.

@@duffgurl85 There isn't so much a correlation between the size of the reel and the size of fish you can catch. The size of the reel typically correlates to how much line it can hold and sometimes as a reel gets bigger it will see an increase in drag allowing for catching bigger fish (but not always). For instance, the 1000 and 2000 have the same amount of drag but the 2000 holds more line. In this instance the 1000 can theoretically catch bigger fish because it does have a stronger drag than the 500. That being said, typically your rod will determine the size of fish you can catch and the UL rod your son bought is for fish on the smaller side. A catfish on the UL rod is likely to break it but a small bass, crappie, trout, or bluegill will be perfect. It'll be up to your husband to use the proper bait for the species he is going after to ensure he doesn't hook anything too big. I wish you guys luck, any other questions let me know! 👍

That is pretty odd because as you reel it actually is supposed to tighten. Try contacting [e-mail]. they always get back to me within a few days and solve my problem.
