Omg. My mom loves her! I had no idea she was on American Idol!!

I like Kat and although voices change over the years, she sounds so much different here. Almost like she decided to change her voice a bit after this. Maybe the sound is just off so it's harder to hear her higher pitched voice. Regardless, she should have never picked this song to try to get her through. This is a simple song to sing and just doesn't impress anyone. And it isn't going to impress the Idol judges. Sadly, she should have just picked a different / better song.

For what she does, I liked her song choice, but I don't think it would have mattered for Idol. She isn't going to go with choreographed dance moves as is one current norm,...and she isn't going to belt with anyone because her voice isn't a powerful one,..."Fever" is simple, but it requires nuance to sing well (which rules me out)..that rapid jazz or blues vibrato with quick phrasing so you don't expose that you're not going to stand toe to toe with a Streisand, Bassey or Gorme. Her angle is pure style and intimacy, which isn't en vogue, but a pleasure to hear,..and to watch with her sometimes quirky mannerisms. ("Lucky" from Austin City Limits). For me, that visual adds to the performance...very 1940s.
