Hey Great Job Tony !! I am scheduled to visit Phuket (Kata and Patong beaches) between 16-22 Oct. Will definitely use your tips for the nightlife as well as the important tip of the Tuk-Tuk v/s metered Taxis. I plan to hire a bike for the first 3 days and last three days will need a 4 wheeler as we plan to drive around the island.

Writing in this comment after visiting Phuket last week -- I had seen this video review and kept Kata and Kata Noi in my guide list. We had a splendid time at the Kata Beach (Northern end where the main parking lot is which is also used by the Water sports guys to dock their scooters and speed boats), the center part was kind of over crowded. The water was Blue in color and once in the deeps I could see my feet when standing in 5 feet deep water -- very good water quality and the sand was white and smooth. Kata Noi too was similar but the population of surfers were more and mostly hotel customers, the guy from whom I rented a car was with us and his GF being from Katha District knew the lounger people so that was a plus for us. Had a blast at Kata and the evenings were fun while on the Kata-Karon road

Hi, Please to hear you had a good time over at Kata/ Karon it's a great area to make as a base to go off and explore the rest of the Island and still have a cool place to come back to in the evening. Personal i would say it's very good for couples and families in particular 👍

I went to kata noi beach last yr but I was staying at Movenpick in Karon. Was hard to park and access to kata noi beach. Some hotel staffs at the beach asked me; where u stay? I said I stay at Kingdom of Phuket and I love this Kingdom. Then they let me go thru.... :)

Hi John I'm pleased to hear they did not stop you from entering a public beach Kata Noi is not a private beach nor do any of the hotel own it to my knowledge.

Thinking about moving in Phuket for a few months and I really like you videos....you have a new subscriber from France! One question: is Phuket safe? not the virus...but more about agressions stealing etc....I've read it has been worse the last few years...true or false? Sorry about my bad english!

Hi Frederic, sorry for the slow reply I have been moving over the last few week so things have been very hectic but as from next week things should be back to normal with new content on its way as regarding your question I have not had any issues in Phuket with stealing and it's not something you hear about a lot but there maybe isolated cases just like many places around the world hope this is of help 👍

Thank you for the video, I wonder if it's worth visiting Phuket in August. I know the weather is highly unpredictable, but anyway would be thankful for any ideas on that.

Hi and thanks for commenting / question whilst August is not the most popular month with people to visit Thailand it is still reasonable. August is within the Rainy season in Thailand so you should expect rain from time to time and it may also be heavy at times however that isn't to say it rains non stop. There are also plenty of Sunny dry periods too. It's alway hard to predict the weather but the month of August can be ok weather wise.

Kid you not , my wife and I stayed at the Katathani in August 14 for 11 days for ZAR 8900.00 which is about $600.00. Included breakfast , and a couple of vouchers to some upmarket restaurants , the Fantasia show I think it was called. Was something like a 89% discount if I remember correctly. Every few years it seems my one Credit Card provider sends me an unbelievable deal. Cant say no to a deal like that.

Kata used to be paradise. Phuket has been utterly destroyed in the last 20 years.Thank god I had the pleasure to live there 20 years ago for two full years when it was unspoiled and water Buffalo slept on the main roads. I returned for a visit this summer and I was devastated. I'll have to go east towards Sulawesi or Borneo next time. Sad thing though .I was really shook up.

Hi, generally it's not to bad around the Island but there may be a few places you will struggle, Banana beach limited parking, Patong can be very busy at times. You shouldn't have too many problems around Mai Khao as this is a quieter area.
