The narrative in this fight is incredible. It takes place in a mirror world between two individuals whose goals are mirrored, whose powers are also slightly mirrored. One is hiding behind a mask of sorts and gradually as the fight develops that individual comes to terms with who he really is, and what he really wants. Luffys character won this fight and the final blow is his declaration about becoming king. Mr Morj covers all aspects of this fight in his analysis incredibly well and it's well worth watching, along with his other content

I don't think Akainu is pure evil. Yeah, his methods are evil, but his goal is good - to maintain peace and eradicating real evil i.e. pirates, bandits, etc. no matter who stands in his way. If he was truly evil, he would've killed Aokiji but he chose to spare him and fired him from the navy.

What makes Katakuri so badass is his resolve to his oaths, personal and to others, even those whom he shouldn't rightfully give loyalty to. He swears to protect his family, but he's also sworn to protect Big Mom, so imagine for a moment how he'd react if Big Mom attacked his closest family, like Brulee. What makes Katakuri so interesting as a character is that he is both flexible, and predictable, because you all know he would fight Big Mom even if she's vastly stronger than him for his immediate family who absolutely love him, the ones who KNOW him, I mean. You know WHAT he'll do in certain situations, and the fact some of them will absolutely put him in a worse position, like that spear self stab, makes him that much more enthralling to be interested in as a character. We need more antagonists in general who are actual characters rather than villains like Katakuri, who are not one dimensional, "What would a villain do?" and rather, "What would (Character name here) do?" Limits to all traits based on circumstances are the best designed characters.
