That guy who had a fondness for cigars strongly supported neo-liberal policies, which pave the way for the privatization of crucial public services. The rest of them, well, they were unapologetic instigators of military unrest. When the nun mentioned the need for discernment, we shouldn't lower our guard and get lost in the intricacies of history. Remembering EDSA means working together towards a just and egalitarian society. Let's always question ourselves: Who gains from EDSA? And who are we doing this for?
