Katara Tribute | Eclipse

Tried something a bit different this time. Katara has inspired me since I was a kid, so I thought it was about time I did a tribute to her. This edit is on the intense side and it was a little tedious to do, but totally worth it. Just like with the others in this series, I used a trailer track.
I don't own anything. The song is the Hans Zimmer version of Eclipse used in the Dune trailer. The footage is from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Thanks for watching, y'all! Your support as I've been doing these has inspired me a ton.

Most of the people who start out watching the series, they think that she is just a girl. The love interest of the protagonist and that's it. That she is very feminine. Katara is more than that. She lost her mother and technically her father as well. As Iroh said, the people of the water tribe adapt to changes. Whenever something bad happened it was her who tried to keep everything together. Always caring about each member of the group. She is more than someone who behaves like a mother, she is powerful, versatile and dangerous but full of love. I will never meet someone as emotionally strong as her. Appreciate her!!

See, I'm a Zutara shipper, but one of the BIGGEST reasons I hate Kataang is because her character was reduced to just the "Avatars Girl" in so many people's eyes. The whole freaking story WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT HER AND HER COMPASSION

Katara always had this motherly feel about her, and remembering how young all the characters were during the series (ps they were all roughly 12-13). They must've really relied on her quite a lot, there is even an episode where Toph is trying to adjust to their dynamic and protective/authority that Katara had in the group. In her own clan at a young age, Katara not only had to but adopt that role even when she had lost her own. Great amv, Katara doesn't get enuff credit for her role and support in the series :)

I think what a lot of people forget. Is that katara had a lot of repressed anger. Like people always paint her as this super ultra cari g mother figure and she was…but that wasn’t all she was. She was sarcastic and could be mean and hurtful and she lashed out alot. Her and zuko are alike in that manner they lash out at others when theyre upset. And she just had alot of hatred and anger for the fire nation and by extension zuko cause as she said he was the face of the fire nation to her for the longest time. And I think she has a little anger and hatred for herself because she’s the reason her mom died at least she thinks she is. She’s such a complex character I hate to see her diminished like the fandom does

Kitara is arguably one of the most consistently varied characters in the series. While I find her attitude annoying in a lot of moments you can't deny her growth, ability and strengths. This is a great tribute.

@@Siyan4x There were no inconsistencies in her character's actions. Zuko deserved what he got from her. The only times she seemed a little annoying was when she was trying to convince Sokka to let her go find the mother's killer. But these moments are real and raw, they show the human flaws of even the nicest people like Katara.

I don’t get when people complain about Katara. Yes, she mentions her mother a lot but I’m sure you would too if you watched your mother die when you were 8. And not only that, Katara had to suffer the guilt of your mother sacrificing her life just to protect you for being a water bender. She is such a strong character as well, she literally fought an extremely talented and very developed water bender when she herself wasn’t very talented, and put up quite a good fight. I honestly admire Katara, and don’t understand why people don’t like her.

@@phutsorn1845 yeah, nobody’s perfect. We all make mistakes or sometimes come off as rude or unkind. Katara isn’t particularly my favourite character and does kinda come off as a bit annoying in certain instances but by season 3 she really does truly find herself and that’s what I love about her.

I love Katara so much. Just because she doesn't afraid to talk about her weaknesses (if you think about it, in some point it makes her even stronger) and sometimes cares too much, too many people don't realise how badass and strong she really is. Yes, Katara has some character issues, but...who doesn't in this show? Characters in A:TLA are so real and it makes me love them even better, but Katara sure as hell is one of my favorites.
