Love the patch pants! I never thought of this as a DIY! If you can't wash them, hang them up for a few days, airing them out until any odor disappears! Do this for any clothes (but hand/machine wash if visibly dirty) saves on coin! 🖤🖤

Er.. On the Metalhead thing, ACDC aren't a metal band, they're a Hard Rock band but yes, generally if you want to be genuinely seen as whatever it is you're claiming to be, specifically music-based scenes in this case, you have to actually look into and listen to the music. Obviously people can dress however they want but the moment you start claiming to be something that is defined through a music-based subculture, you should at least have knowledge of some of the music and to know if you truly enjoy it or not. If one is not wanting to do that, that's fine but they should stick with calling themselves "alternative" (or "Alt") as that is the wide term to describe someone who is not into conventional standards and is not as much a loaded term compared to more specific music-defined subcultures. And the cool thing about actually learning about these specific subcultures be them punk, goth, emo, or metal is that at least compared to when I was a teenager in the early to mid 2000s, it's a lot easier to find the music since you have places like KZbin and Bandcamp to truly immerse yourself in a genre of music. When I was a teen, the internet archive of music wasn't as extensive yet and your best bet was going either going to record stores and listening to the demo music or knowing someone who knew the obscure music that you were interested in and could point you in the right direction to learn more. So people definitely should take advantage of how things are now. And special note, you don't need to know every single thing about a band in order to count. You don't have to know every member's name and when they formed (but it's fun to learn lol), just knowing some songs (doesn't have to be all) is the only thing you really need. Also as far as goth goes, as someone who is into the scene and has been for about 16 years now, I have to admit that I agree that knowing some of the lesser known goth bands is always nice and personally makes me think the person is actually into the music vs someone who seems to just be trying to get into it for attention. The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, and Bauhaus are the big 4 and to me, if one only cites these bands and that's the extent of what they've listened to then yeah, it does give me some suspicion (but not if the person is new to the scene). But throw in some other bands like Alien Sex Fiend, Merciful Nuns, Fields of The Nephilim, and/or Neila Invo and I tend to get into the mindset that the person is actually exploring the genre for what it has to offer.beyond the big 4. Also the reason why we say that fashion isn't as important is because 1, when you see how a lot of goth bands presented themselves, they were not decked out to to the nines in decadent clothing as most musicians tended to dress in casual clothes or clothes with DIY and 2, it can make it very easy for newcomers to start obsessing about how they need to look a certain way at all times lest they feel like they can't really be goth. So while there definitely is a look that is associated with goth, it's important to remind the people within it that it's not mandatory. And personally, I've run into way more people who look like stereotypical goths but don't actually listen to the music (and tend to confuse and conflate Industrial and synth pop music as "goth music") vs people in the scene with more toned down looks that actually listen to the music so that should say something lol On the politics things, all I'll say is this. Being open-minded is one thing but don't have your mind be so open that it starts to fall out and you give validation to things that make absolutely no sense when you apply critical thinking. Make of that what you will.

One perspective is someone seeing you as a "poser" or wannabes. The opposite is the person experiencing "imposter syndrome". Anyone who is getting into something, like Goth for example, will always start as a beginner needing to learn more. If it is something they end up finding interesting then they stick with it! These terms just act to diminish beginners sense of power and self worth. Using these terms act as a form of "gate keeping" with only certain people being allow to participate while blocking others. 🖤🖤🌹🌹🌹🖤🖤

Just listen to what you want, dress how you want, watch what you want, learn what you want. As long as you're not causing any harm to yourself and others, you're all good is what I think.

Why would you want to hang around people you have to pretend around? I guess that's why I don't /haven't labelled myself, I don't claim to be into, say, games around gamers, so when you don't know much you don't have to pretend. I dress in a variety of ways but when I dress more Gothic people don't tend to accuse me of not being an actual Goth,or define it on what music I listen to.

I define myself as punk simply because of my lifestyle i play in a punk band most of my friends are punks i mostly listen to punk music and i have the mindset of one i have a strong sense of justice and grew up a minority i go to protests and so on so i wouldn't say i pretend :'D And youre right labels just exist for people who 100% identify with some kind of scene if you dont then you dont have to use a label just be yourself

@@avampirechick740 Yea. I’ll have to do some more research. I know Siamese cats are the bomb! A good friend of mine who lives in San Francisco had a Siamese cat. “Ferdinand” was his name. He was incredibly smart and almost like a little dog! You could take him on walks and he learned to do tricks on command! It was pretty amazing!!! 🤩 I’m assuming you’re from an Eastern European country? One of the Slavic speaking countries?
