You will never rest Until the stars burn out My day is done I love the sound of no one coming by Tomb beneath the trees The name unsung The darkness in the cracks I am not what you have Waited for Trust, nothing is enough This hunting ground I need the freedom to control My own I need the sound of rain Wearing dependence down The line must be kept so thin To live near life, not within No need to take the test Before the dark must shine Reflect my eyes and strip This creation of mine Tomorrow is so long The dead end king is here Black wings upon his back

I love the solo/bridge melody, it's quite simple but very beautiful. Each time they come up with this type of musical idea, I guess that's what makes them such a special band. Even the lyrics, they are not very descriptive, but they evoke a lot of feelings, it's like Jonas had an idea and then decided to strip down the words until they become pure emotion.

Man this song has the real wall of sound. Nothing can beat this. Play it load with your earphones on and you´re hypnotized

That's actually how Anders recommend fans to hear this, to hear all the layers. :)

@@6hypnone I thought he said that in an interview regarding NITND, though it would be no surprise to me that he said that about this album too! It is definitely the best way to listen to music, period

It's so dark and yet with perseverance, like once in the past the was something called love but that's dead and gone for a while and everything is blackness and nothingness but maybe just maybe, one day that might appear again, probably not though. And it keeps going on, lifeless but struggling, never ending, always going on no matter what, even if you feel like killing yourself everyday for years, you still just go on, feels like going insane, but you go on, in a deep calm trance. Fuck, I love Katatonia. This saved and destroyed me several times.

One of the most tense and poignant track on Dead End Kings. That chorus sounds so tragic...

I went to sleep in the woods. The snow had not melted yet, it was cold still. I found a place next to big rocks. I put my hammock up, went inside the sleeping bag and looked at the treetops over me while the falling darkness faded them in the black sky.

Absoultely love this album!!!! Katatonia freaking rocks, nonetheless I do miss their previous albums back in the day. Brave Murder Day and Dance of December Souls is one of my personal favorites, but to listen to the amazing sound of this song and the album entirely is utterly placid.
