I feel like in life people get used to being distracted and ignore what life should be about, either through work or hobbies or various "checklist" daily issues that let them go through life without thinking. When you go through a period of NEETdom you get to a "enlightenment" point where entertainment isn't cutting it anymore and you start appreciating other things. When I got a job and started getting distracted by various things that way of appreciating life disappeared from my mind, and I've started to feel like the typical NPC stereotype, getting amused by stupid things and finding 60-second videos good enough to feel entertained and turn my brain off. At the same time I feel like that "ideal" way of living my life I formed during neetdom was something purely ideal and not based on reality.

So I met a girl who was pretty much just like Rin and I just find it so fucking absurd. It undeniably is. Wonder what the writer would feel if she met somebody like her. How Rin just tries and is unable to understand Hisao's feelings, so is she, completely incapable. Love just falls too much within out her reach. And deep down, for all of my burning hatred and ressentment, I know she is not wrong. Truly she has already achieved hapiness. Who am I to judge her? Yeah, she'll probably end up alone someday. But the weight of loneliness will go unnoticed by her. She'll just go on, studying biology, ocassionally meeting people that we both know she'll never be able to care whether they are there for her or not. Distractions that exist only for her pleasure. With this girl there is just no depth. She's already complete, her whole self cristallized. There is no path for she to go towards. There is no improvement. There is nothing. Our relationship didn't work out. It would never have, but I guess that's life for ya. There are no rainy days hugs or cold-medicine induced kisses... There is just selfishness and priorities. Blind eyes and untold lies. After all, she straight up told me she has no time to help depressed people with their problems. Now she's just gone. Ocassionally crossing paths at university, akward, indifferent glances and thats' it. All the good moments we spent together in our span of three years, did they mean anything to her? You wouldn't tell, because I can't tell. But that's okay. We're all still here, breathing our little confessions away back to where they belong, hoping the pain fades and the sky brightens once more. Wherever life takes us, all we can do is embrace it and learn from it, is it not? See ya, Jane.

Had this playing on my ipod one day before I clocked in for work. I was sitting in my car when I spotted an older lady who also works there with me getting out of her car to go in.
