I still think that Kate made a mistake but Lucy reaction eventually made herself guilt as well. She was right to be angry at her, break up with her, not speak with her, but all the moping around everytime Kate was near made me hate Lucy as much, if not even more than Kate. I keep thinking that things would have been far easier for both of them if she played a little less the victim, in an attempt to seemingly punish Kate, and let her talk, instead.

Well she was betrayed in a way, so it is not that she is playing the victim. She is still hurt and she does not want to give Kate another chance, in fear she will end up heartbroken again. Her wall are up completely!

I don't think she is in general, but she needs something big from Whistler to believe she is invested in them. Lucy was the one giving more in that relationship from the start, now she needs to be sure and she needs something big to really let herself be with Kate again. Cara and Whistler not telling her about the girlfriend in DC hurt her. She still loves her, but can't let herself take that leap again, especially now when her team knows about them.

As much as I love Ernie and believe he wants Kate and Lucy together, I don't necessarily agree with his take. They both actively pushed each other away prior to the Cara fiasco. Yes that hurt Lucy, but I think the"after thought" was Lucy's interpretation not Kate's. After all Kate had not seen Cara since she got to Hawaii. It drives me crazy that there has been no history on either to kind of explain why they act and react like they do. How is Kate suppose to fix anything when anything she tries is always wrong as far as Lucy is concerned. Where are the normal conversations a couple has when you first start dating??? And now Kate needs to go big or go home when she doesn't have a clue on what Lucy wants in a relationship. Sure hope Monday isn't a total bummer.

And surprise! Lucy seemed unhappy and unappreciative about the grand gesture. Here’s hoping her sour face was temporary on her part. That, on further review, she actually realized the sacrifice and humility it took for Kate to make herself that vulnerable for Lucy. At some point, Lucy has to see that, right?

I don't understand your problem, every series works that way. Of course the writers try to captivate the viewer with tension and emotions. I don't think they need a headliner for season two because viewers obvious like the show. and no matter how kate and lucy ends on monday most viewers will be there for season two to either see how they get back together or to see how their relationship develops.
