I’d love to hear some retrospective thoughts of your Kate Bush journey after another month or two have gone by, top ten favourite songs, favourite albums, which ones grew or diminished with relistens, etc.

You must have read my mind because that's what I have planned! I've been considering doing a live stream of some sort that would be an "Artist Spotlight", going over here career, best/worst tracks, an album ranking, etc. I'd just have to figure out how to set that up first. If not a live stream, I will most definitely deliver on an Album tier list/ranking video! Thanks!

Great react/review Randy. So glad you got to this album during a period with cold weather. This album is one of Kate's finest, although severely underrated as all of her later work. The theatrical quality and lyricism are still uniquely Kate, but with a deepness that comes with maturity. Misty is my absolute favorite. Lake Tahoe is a close second. Also, best wishes to your sister-in-law.

This is another wonderful reaction to one of my favorite Kate Bush albums. It's a gorgeous, understated gem that is often overlooked by her fans and critics but to me it's some of Kate's most thoughtful, moody work. I've enjoyed watching your reactions and sincerely hope & pray things get better for your family regarding your sister in law's health. ❤

Thank you for uploading these amazing reactions!! The magic of 50 Words for Snow will never stop to amaze me, around 2019, when I discovered Kate I didnt thought much of it but now it's probably my favourite. With every listen it gets more special! Some recommendations for other discographys to explore: - Florence + the Machine (crazy vocals, inspired by Kate Bush, incredibly well written personal lyrics, artsy, dramatic, harp) - Lana del Rey (changed modern pop, somber, dark, sophiticated, often husky vocals, lots of "stripped" songs) - AURORA (unique vocals, inspired by Kate Bush, daring and sometimes experimental, otherwordly, first songs written around the age of 14, detailled productions) P.S. sending love to your sister in law ❤ will try to see if I can help

This album is a grower for sure, but I'm glad you liked it as much as you did on your first listen! Such a stunning album, one of her big masterpieces in my opinion. Misty is my favorite, it's one of her best songs and no one can change my mind! Just two months ago she released an animated video called "Little Shrew (Snowflake)" with Snowflake being the music accompanied to it, and I think it might make you appreciate the song much more. It's very moving and gave the song a new meaning. She also did a radio interview talking about it and revealed that she wants to start working on a new album, which is huge news! I was hoping you would do her album The Other Sides, which is full of b-sides, covers and remixes by her that are really worth hearing, so I'd love if you'd consider it! Her live album Before the Dawn is also really worth checking out, I understand if it doesn't fit the channel but listen by yourself! You should also watch her videos if you haven't!

Hmmm. b-sides sounds interesting. If I tackle it, it'll either be a stand alone video such as this or part of a live stream I've been considering. Although the live stream concept might already be rather long with the ideas you fans have given me haha. Thanks!

Great reaction again! "Among Angels" was an encore at her live shows with Kate at a grand piano which was penetrated by a giant birch.

Loved every minute of that, thanks, you're on fresh snow here, going where reactors rarely go. I love this album, I see it as a bit like Aeriel in reverse, the first three tracks forming the complete opposite of the Sky of Honey, followed by the more mixed bag with the single (Wildman) Lake Tahoe is my fave, it had me in tears again today (just lost my old cat a couple of weeks ago and I want to find her again) Sorry. Yes, the song-writing is superb here, glad you made it through. After following her from the start, I'm afraid I think this is the last album we'll get from Kate, unless she opens the door to her vault, which must be packed full of jewels we haven't heard yet

In a BBC Radio on the 25th of October about her edit of Snowflake called "Little Shrew" and the accompanying animation in aid of the charity "War Child", she revealed that she wants to start work on a new album.

@leslieturner8276 Yes, I heard that, it was lovely to hear her voice, but tbh I wasn't convinced that there are actual plans, I'm sure she would love to, but it's a big ask, and she has such high standards. I guess I'm just happy with the amount of genius she has given us already, though I wish she would open her archive, she must have so many demos etc worth hearing.

Yay I was hoping we'd get this one, and you delivered! Another great reaction :D. Bertie is younger here than he is on Aerial confusingly, I think he was around 12 on 50WFS, his vocals on Aerial were done a few years later for a rerelease of Areal, when she needed someone's vocals removed.

Yea that makes sense. I read the unfortunate reason for the change on Aerial but it was certainty warranted. Bertie's vocals definitely improved as he grew older imo

Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand ... oops, sorry! Wrong Joe. I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed your reactions to the Kate Bush discography - enjoyed you enjoying her, in fact. You've been impressively thorough and attentive, you've picked up on so many themes and details in your first encounters with her albums, and appreciated them so fully; it's been a real pleasure to share in your experience. I was twelve when Wuthering Heights was released. It had been a long cold winter, which was made much longer by the unspeakable Mull of fu-Kintyre, which Wings had released in November the previous year. For reasons no-one has ever been able to explain, this maudlin dirge had taken a stranglehold of the radio, he British record-buying public, and the charts, and would simply not let go. It was number 1 literally for months, making me, and many others, hate Paul McCartney for quite a long time afterwards. We were desperate for something different. Right on cue, a girl who was younger than my brother stepped onto the strange, and with just a couple of piano arpeggios and a sprinkling of bells, began to sing her song. My initial reaction, being twelve, was to laugh, but that soon gave way to fascination. There had never been anyone like her: _that_ voice singing _that_ song, the video, the dancing, the theatricality of it all, exploding out of a shy, softly spoken, sweetly earnest 19 year old; the same girl who had written such an amazing song, and, insisted, apparently against her label's wishes, that Wuthering Heights, a song about a Victorian novel, should be released as her debut single. Young she may have been, a little naive, slightly awkward when dealing with asinine questions from journalists and TV presenters, her favourite word was 'Wow! and she said it a lot about the stuff she was into. But there was steel in her spirit, and as an artist with an huge imagination and a singular voice, she arrived fully formed, self-aware, and utterly determined to be true to herself. She was compelling, certainly to the shy, bookish and sensitive boy that I was; and the she was the first musical artist I really loved, who formed me, taught me things and became part of my identity. There were cooler bands, there were bigger acts, fashions came and went, but Kate was always in her own lane, doing what mattered to her, speaking through her art, when she had something to say. Having the grace to be silent when she didn't - not too many artists can say that! Nearly fifty years later, I still love her music, and I'm stupidly proud of her for being the artist and the person she has been and still is. It's delighted me to see the resurgence of interest in her music, and the esteem and respect in which she is held by so many artists that have come after her, and been inspired by her. In particular, it really touches me to see younger people such as yourself discovering her music, being enthralled by her stories and her musical personality, and moved by her humanity and her integrity. You've done a great job. Best wishes to your sister-in-law, as she is dealing with her cancer diagnosis. When will the US stop making serious illness a matter of severe financial hardship for so many of its citizens? It's not what anybody wants when they are poorly. I hope she gets the treatment and support she needs.

Wow I love this little piece of history and the impact it made on you. The power of music is a beautiful thing and reading how others grow and transform from the artists they love is such a treat. Kate Bush is one of a kind and her impact on music is only rivaled by a few other great artists of her time.
