Kate Bush was in the spotlight since early 1978, releasing two albums ("The Kick Inside" and "Lionheart") in 1978, starting with her UK #1 song "Wuthering Heights". In spring 1979, she was on her (still only) "Tour Of Life", a very theatrical event with many cloth changing, big stage show (not usual in those, not even nowa-, days), a magician, dancing, and the first use of a head set for a singer who moves a lot during a show. Then, at the end of the year, she had a "Kate Bush Christmas Special with guest Peter Gabriel" on BBC television, where she performed a setlist more or less live in a 45 minute show. I love your reaction. Kate Bush is always expressive in her music and incorporates dance and theatre. Her very first song from her first Album The Kick Inside. The track Wuthering Heights she wrote the song based on the novel. About unrequited love. Angst and jealousy. You'll love it. Please react to her debut track Wuthering Heights. She has two videos with the white dress. It's amazing. Her music is amazing. You'll enjoy her Dreaming album.

By 1979 Kate was already well known because of her 1978 debut single "Wuthering Heights" became a worldwide smash hit reaching number 1 in a number of countries (including the UK). Her debut album "The Kick Inside" reached number 3 in the UK and charted high elsewhere including number 1 in the Netherlands and Portugal. A second album "Lionheart" was released in November 1978. So by 1979 Kate had made quite a few TV appearances and duing April and May of that Kate embarked on her only (to date) multiple venue tour "The Tour Of Life", so she was very well known. The XMAS special was a 45 minute programme which featured songs from Kate's first two albums and some from her yet to be released 3rd album "Never For Ever", there was also a guest appearance from Peter Gabriel. - the Kate Bush songs appeared in the following order: Violin, Them Heavy People, Ran Tan Waltz, December Will Be Magic Again (the only Christmas song), The Wedding List, Egypt, The Man With The Child In His Eyes, Don't Push Your Foot On The Heartbreak

Kate definitely was a pioneer and very daring. She wrote, arranged, and performed and by 1982, produced her own material, she had been granted 100 % creative control since her initial signing with EMI at the age of 17. She pioneered the first headset mic for live performance, nowadays no touring music artist or their six back-up dancer/singers could survive without it. She was one of the first artists to use sampling tech with the Fairlight and Sinclavior as a compositional tool. There are almost too many firsts to even mention here. Back in the seventies, women singer/songwriters were still treated like 'property' and there wss ALWAYS a man either shadowing and controlling from above or from behind the curtain. The 70s were chock full of bands who were 'couples'. ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, the Carpenders, Ike and Tina, Captain and Tenille, Sonny and Cher...the list goes on and on. Women were not taken seriously as songwriters and they were not appreciated as musicians. Where were all the progressive rock women making the record 'Albums' as art, and writing deep epic material like Pink Floyd and King Crimson?? There was only ONE woman doing that. Joni Mitchell, Carol King, and Kate Bush were the first women to commandere their own careers and creative work. Definitely explore more Kate, she is an anomaly...and yes Lady Gaga clearly had some 'Kate lessons'. As did Bjork, Florence and the Machine, Tori Amos, Sinead O Conner, Madonna, Adele, Sarah Mclaughlin, Beth Gibbons, Liz Frazer....on and on...

You are a very interesting guy, Kate Bush is batshit crazy, so unique without her we would have no Bjork, Fiona, Tori, Gaga you called it. Everything Gaga did Kate did first. Did you train musically or are you self taught? The Sensual World by Kate has always been my favorite but you may also like Babooshka by Kate.

"Batshit crazy" -- true, Kate is a fearless performer and has no hesitation in going places that would give other songwriters pause, but in real life she is shy and very down to earth. Everyone who has ever met her, worked with her, or interviewed her is in agreement that Kate is one of the most humble, gracious, kind, sweet, intelligent, witty, and all out lovely human beings alive. A common quote from many who have known her is that "everybody loves Kate."

Do yourself a favor and listen to her catalogue in private so you can enjoy her brilliance without interupting because you are making a reaction video. "The Dreaming" is one of her best in my opinion. One the=at people never seem to recommend but one I like is "The Red Shoes". But everything she recorded is amazing.

You said Kate was "cute". Maybe, but with all the many references to transgenderism I'm finding in Kate's music, I'm beginning to wonder if all is not as it might seem! In this regard, you might like to react to her song "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" (1978): kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHLNaaarlspmjbs Kate wrote this at the tender age of 13. See if you can find a metaphorical interpretation of the lyrics, rather than a literal one.
