The original meaning of the song being a someone who is depressed and guilty wanting to die to bring a loved one back, which is very much Max's story. 2. The literal meaning as Max cries over Billy's grave, rises towards heavan, and thanks to her friends, "makes a deal with god" saving her from the devil.

It's Kate Bush's song, she wrote it produced it and sang it in the early 80"s she is "the original" of this song and there is a video. They slowed it down and made her voice more deep, but you can find Kate's "Running up that hill" song and video on youtube easy.
