She had the surgery in the morning and was out of the hospital that evening she insisted on going home and taking care of herself . They removed the gallbladder.

Andrew walking first shouldn’t worry us and perhaps it’s timely to remember that the royals arrive to functions in reverse order of seniority, meaning, the first to arrive has the lowest status. I had an epi-gastric hernia repair 5 years ago and for the first 2 years after I had to be very careful about lifting heavy things!!! I'm still careful now because I don't want it to reoccur. I had extreme abdominal surgery myself in January and I was informed that I too will have a long recovery as everything has to heal inside. People should just understand that and let it go. It isn't a badge of honour to tell everyone,it's her body letting her be and it is will be better for her recovery.

I hope you heal fully and soon! I had a full hysterectomy and was in hospital for 4 days, then a week later went back for a complication, a small bowel obstruction. I was in hospital 10 days for that one. It does take a long time to heal. Went back to work 6 weeks after the first surgery, but in my case, I feel like 3 months recovery would have been excessive. I was 48 then, and didn't have the support that POW has, but that's just how it is with we commoners, we have to manage.

He is not speculating. Gossip escapes from staff. A good example is when Edward was secretly having an affair with Mrs Simpson. Every Friday afternoon like clockwork he and Wallace would fly by small aircraft to an airfield Bobbinton airport near Himley Hall, the then home of the Earl of Dudley and gossip soon got round locally because locals were staff there. After all, where else would she be? It is important to remember that Catherine is also a mere human with an earthly body that requires healing, restoration, and strengthening. Let's all continue to pray for her full and speedy recovery and trust that she is progressing well. It will be so wonderful to see Princess Catherine again when she (hopefully) attends the Easter church service this spring with members of the Royal family. Until then, may God's richest blessings fortify and strengthen her daily. Note: Does anyone actually realize just how many muscles it takes to squat down to a young child's level and then use those same stomach muscles to stand back up again, especially after having major abdominal surgery? I certainly do, and it is not easy. It takes literally months to rebuild the strength, ability, and endurance to do the simplest of things. Princess Catherine must be ready before she steps back into her duties, or else she could damage months of rehabilitation.

I question if Princess Catherine developed Crohn’s disease, with impending obstruction of her intestines, necessitating a quick (albeit not emergency) resection of the inflamed segment of her intestines. Simultaneously, they would have created a temporary loop colostomy, or loop ileostomy, diverting the bowel contents away from the anastomosed portion of her intestine, giving the anastomosis time to heal. Then in three months, or so, they will drop this temporary colostomy, or ileostomy, back into her abdominal cavity. After that, her intestine will resume normal function. If this is so, please just give this beautiful, gentle, lovely young woman, time and respect to heal in privacy.

I had serious abdominal surgery in 2021, in hospital well over a week, it took me 2 months to stand up straight & weeks later to walk a short distance, it doesn't matter how long it takes Catherine to recover as long as she eventually gets a clean bill of health.

Just curious what would keep someone out that long,?especially since there is so much more progress. I’ve had several laparoscopy and it’s not easy as well as a very small part of an Ovary removed. Remember trying to stand up in hospital was going to faint, nurse has “smelling salts” (more like smelling Ammonia) to keep me from passing out. Husband wasn’t very supportive, sadly. As a retired nurse in the US. When one gets abdominal surgery, it can hurt to cough, sit, stand, especially an open surgery , vs via laparoscopic. All the layers need to heal. One needs to be pushed to deep breath, cough and move, because otherwise, you get blood clots, pneumonia. It dosen’t matter how old you are either. One needs to be medicated before any of these activities in a timely manner, because even without activity, breathing can be painful. It’s called unconscious splinting, when you are taking much shallower breaths, than normal, and while pain medication helps, it can also decrease your breathing. So one does pulmonary toilet for the patient, which means doing breathing exercises, with premedication, for pain, to expand lungs and cough up mucus, to prevent pneumonia. Physical therapy is needs to regain strength and prevent blood clots. That starts ASAP. Usually the day after surgery.

Thank you for setting them straight, all they want is clicks and to see the numbers go up. I had a terrible time healing from surgery due to perforated ulcers and I was in my 30’s at the time with two young boys. Even when I did return to work in my opinion I could have used at least another month of uninterrupted recovery. God bless all nurses as it is you ladies who carry out the doctor’s orders and relay them to the patients.❤❤❤

I had to return to my job too early, so my healing was not safe and full. 26 years later I still have to take serious pain medication and am unable to do what should be simple tasks. I wish The Princess of Wales a Full and SAFE recovery. If that means it is yet another month she is off work now then so be it. She still has a good 40-50 years of work ahead of her. Let her recover safely and fully now so she can fulfill her duties in a pain free environment.

Major abdominal surgery normally requires 8 weeks recovery unless complications arise then it gets longer. Doctors usually won’t medically clear a patient to return to work before the 8th week. Let’s all pray for both King Charles & Princess Kate’s recovery 🙏

If you've noticed the past year the Princess had a dramatic weight 😢loss. No doubt due to ulcerative colitis. Sometimes the only cure is to remove the colon and opt for a colostomy . This is very hard and private for any one to go through. I can only imagine how worse it is for the Princess being young, beautiful, very active, wife, mother, but most of all a Princess to become Queen and known to the whole world. There are a whole bunch of “serious” conditions requiring abdominal surgery in a young adult woman that don’t involve cancer. Appendectomy. Gallstones. Kidney stones. Ectopic pregnancy. Fibroid removal. Ovarian cyst. You can bet that if she had any surgery involving her reproductive system, she sure would not want to have it discussed in public. No woman would!
