The most interesting thing to me in all of this is that Amber's lawyers has a chance to cross examine and ask "did he ever, in any way, physically assault you?". They declined to do so. The only logical reason i see, as someone who is admittedly not a legal professional, for them to not do this is that her saying she'd never been assaulted doesn't fit the "He's an abuser" narrative they're trying to tell.

I'll agree with you on everything except for the part about them getting married. My understanding is that Kate has been clean/sober for years, after suffering many years of destructive behavior in active addiction. I'm not sure that either of them would've survived a marriage to each other at the time they were dating. My hope is that Johnny will continue to seek recovery, perhaps drawing some inspiration from Kate's presence today. In my opinion, the world hasn't seen a greater talent, and goddammit, I don't want us to lose him anytime soon.

She could only state evidence that the defense came up as she was a rebuttal witness.There are limitations on such witness as the defense won't know they would be called before the trial started. The judge had a restriction where no person who had a relationship with either side, except for delegating couple, could testify for or against either one.
