She never explained, when talking about romantic relationship, how come she and Chakotay looked at one another with so much love, he even with longing. Janeway must have loved him, and he said that she was giving in too much to the Prime Directive. at least at the end they could have showed something of what they really felt.

OMG she is so wonderful. She is intelligent and an absolutely incredible actress, and when she talked about what Red said was in regards to "aging with grace" instead of superficial beauty, she showed really how deep she is. When I heard about what happened between Jerri and Kate, I was like so disappointed and I didn't want to know about that, but now I realized that it didn't mean that anyone of them was terrible, it's just that we all have our temper and insecurities, and we've all done something that we could have handled better. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us :))

STAR TREK VOYAGER will always be one of my favorite. For the series. I saw test ones with Genevieve Bujold for position of captain. It was obvious she wasn't right for the part, it just didn't seem to click or feel right. I'm so glad Kate Mulgrew got it , she was made for doing the part. It felt right ,was obvious after she played it for abit. My other favorite. Was the original Star Trek😋😋. Always adored William Shatner, I've also watched some of his other series too😊😊

I think Janeway and Chakotay flirting was very sweet and I was definitely rooting for them--but then I do still agree with Mulgrew that it wouldn't have made sense for the characters to pursue it. I mean, the two highest ranking officers of a ship dating? It wouldn't be done. It would compromise their ability to act in one another's place. And the same is true of any other crew member really, Chakotay might have been able to have a relationship with someone else but Janeway wouldn't have allowed herself that. She had too many lives on her plate to get distracted, it is literally a luxury she couldn't afford.

While I respect Mulgrew greatly, I disagree with her instance that Janeway not have a romantic relationship with Chakotay. A relationship would not have diminished her role down to her gender or made her less of a leader. The opposite is true. It would have shown more of a dynamic complex side of the character that never really got explored. Even though she had a few flings here and there, Janeway mostly seemed asexual throughout the series, a trait even the stoic Picard didn't have. As long as the writing staff didn't go off the deep end with Janeway getting pregnant or something, an organic romantic relationship with Chakotay would have aided the show, not taken away from it. Just my two cents.
@Linerunner997 жыл бұрын
Agreed.. we also wouldn't have gotten that terrible last minute forced hook up between Chakotay and Seven.
@SatoshiMatrix17 жыл бұрын
I didn't really mind the Chakotay/Seven relationship as much as most fans. I mean it kinda makes sense -- the ice queen he wanted wouldn't put out, so he went for the hot cheerleader. It's highschool all over again.
@Linerunner997 жыл бұрын
It might have made sense... if it had been developed rather than written literally into the last 6 or so shows of the series just to have *someone* other than Paris and Torres get together.
@saltlakedood7 жыл бұрын
I read an article today where Jeri Ryan talked about an on set feud someone had with her and I guessed it was Kate and someone in the comments confirmed it. Jeri said that it cleared up once she started dating Braga. Maybe Braga was pissed that Kate was doing that so then later had Chakotay get together with Seven?! On another note, I saw Kate Mulgrew in her one woman show Tea At Five where she plays, funnily enough, Katherine Hepburn. It was very good.

Please keep your pussy political opinions out of entertainment. All that the Trek celebrities do is inspire hate when they open their mouth on it. Ironically, being a Trek celebrity is about a loving and adoring fan relationship. Their political asshattery just destroys that. How ironic.

KZbin has Star Trek Renegade and it sucks. Too dark, No lights. And no light character at all in it. You would think they would know this without OBrian or Worf being able to improve Deep Space 9 which was also dark, gloomy, and dragging, and serious etc.

Barring a few good episodes, Voyager was overall a terrible series, and Janeway was a terrible character. But I don't blame Kate for that at all, she did the best job she could with utterly terrible writing. Her character was so badly written noone could've done it any better. The later seasons did get a little better, but only because she demanded more control over the way her character was written.
@doctari10614 жыл бұрын
Voyager would have been better if they just replaced Kate Mulgrew with Jeri Ryan because Mulgrew is a shitty actress compared to Jeri Ryan. They should have focused on 7 of 9 character from episode 1 and killed off Janeway for constantly repeating mistakes and never plugging repeated security holes. Kate Mulgrew sucked as an actress. Not even close to Jeri Ryan in acting skills.
