I like it when the cover artist doesn't change the pronouns in the song, whether it's out of respect for the songwriter, or just because. Music is a universal, all-inclusive experience, so the gender of the person singing and the object of that singing can change, depending on the situation.

Yes to that. But also if she did, it would have been due to a lack of understanding of what the lyrics really mean. As I recently learned was due to an inside joke between the brother and sister pair in the band and the phrase "ever since I was a little girl" was used to express desire for something. So with the original singer of this song being a male the lyrics still make sense according to that and might not necessarily be about a lesbian fantasy from "ever since they were a little girl". When you also consider they're singing about "the girl" having a boyfriend, it could be the male singer being jealous of a lady in a straight relationship. I just googled it and apparently that was actually the case when writing this song.

@@whoviangirl3878 It was written by the band "The Black Kids", which includes women, but the lead singer, Reggie Youngblood, who is male (as far as I know) said the line was an inside joke with his sister. Wikipedia line: The line "You are the girl, that I've been dreaming of, ever since I was a little girl" is based on an inside joke between Reggie and his sister Ali Youngblood where they would refer to wanting something as "Ever since I was a little girl"

@pyrokittyb, just to clear up any confusion, Blaine sung this song as it reflected the situation of how Finn was criticizing Jesse for his dancing. Hence the "not gonna teach him how to dance with you, hes got two left feet and he bites my moves", Finn having two left feet coz he cant dance and hes trying to tell Jesse how to dance with Rachael. Hoped this helped :)
