I’m thinking the pained look on Rana’s face when she asks if Kate’s in love with Sophie was *finally* received and translated correctly by Kate’s brain, which to me explains why *she* has a pained look on *her* face when Rana says goodnight. Kate’s anger has subsided enough to allow her to see Rana’s still in love with her. Great segue into what we know of Friday’s scenes. Without this little bit of interaction between them tonight it would’ve made it harder to explain why Kate feels the need/inclination to inform Rana of Zee’s behavior with Leanne. And I honestly got teary at their interactions despite Friday’s spoilers. It’s been *SO* long since they’ve talked, at all, without anger from one of them. It felt unreal. And I am too invested. Fuck. P.S. Thanks Steph!!

Well Sophie has known Kate over two years. It was nearly a month between when she kissed her before Devon. They've been dating for a month. If they weren't dating and still friends, Sophie would not have hesitated. Even still you can see Sophie hesitate about moving in when talking with Zee, then again Alya brings it up. Sophie is presented as having a variety of doubts, insecurities about it in these scenes. Corrie has uhauled het couples faster.

Sophie going from fighting & disliking Kate, to resisting Sally trying to set up engaged Kate with Sophie, but all along Sophie revealing she did find Kate attractive, OTT reaction to Kate in her wedding dress , kissing Kate(busting the engagement), sticking her oar in about Caz taking advantage of Kate, instead of staying out of it. Apparently you missed her asking Rana about Imogen break up and her wistful look in response to her own comment about Kate can do so much better.

Thisisashl3y Faye Brookes has sort of addressed this in one or two of her recent interviews. She said (I’m paraphrasing here) that she thinks Kate did have suppressed feelings for Rana, but also that there’s just something about Rana that has impacted Kate in a more extreme way. She wasn’t *this* in love with Caz before, and definitely not with Sophie. She’s in deep, more than ever before with Rana. Other viewers have said they think Kate probably liked Rana but ignored her feelings because she was “straight”. And she resisted them for quite a while after Rana kissed her, too. But when she kissed Rana for the first time that was the sign that indicated Kate had finally accepted her feelings. So, combining all that sounds to me like a good explanation for the speed at which Kate fell in love 😉
