Kate is amazing she's very sweet caring humble compassionate patient and understanding. What I love about her is she's a good listener and she always kneel down to look the children and their eyes when she talks to them. And that new type of wood cutter, that makes chopping wood so easy, that even a child can do it!! Great video. Shows what our American kids are missing. You'd never see little ones handling knives here. I was a Girl Scout leader and anything that could possibly hurt them was forbidden to be taught, like whittling. Kate is a great ambassador for the UK.

I am 81 years old and was raised in South Carolina. Back then my grandfather would whittle and he got me a little knife and he and I would whittle away, such fun, also played outside in the field behind his house digging in the dirt, making mud pies and taking clumps of a wild weed that had yellow flowers and creating the outline of a house and walkway. Put a wild onion long piece down a doodle bug hold to try to catch him and then put him back. There were all sorts of fun things to do. One day my mom gave me a long handled tablespoon and said go out under the oak tree and dig a hole to China. I had so much fun digging that hole about 3 inches in diameter, but soon I was down deep to my shoulder and my mom smiled and showed us a picture of China and told us how far away it was. It was a hot summer day and she wanted us to play more under that shady oak tree. Lots of times she would let us help her plant her favorite flower, irises. She had every color and when I see them in the garden, my mothers face is there. I tried to teach my children many of these things, I loved play marbles as I got older. Pick up jacks. Children today only are given a hand computer and ignored. Not all,but a great deal. I just saw on tv the other day that it hurts their brain development. Parents are different now,. Sad.
