I thought she vowed to not let go of her promise to him to live an authentic life on her terms, have a family, and die an old lady in her bed. Which she did do. I didn’t take it as to literally not let go of him. He knew he wasn’t going to make it which is why he wanted that vow from her before he died. I think too many people took that scene literally.

Yeah, I think I thought that the first time I saw the movie and interestingly I saw this movie the day it came out. I was in the Royal Australian Navy. I took a days leave because I really wanted to see it. I think it was a Wednesday and I knew, that no one else would go to the movies that day now I’m telling 100% truth, I went and got my ticket. I really wish I had kept that. I probably could’ve sold it on eBay for about 20 million dollars by now LOL. But at any rate I got my ticket went and got my jumbo popcorn and my Coke and I think I got something else because I did read. It was a very long movie I could not. There was not one other person so I had my choice of every place so I think I said right about in the middle maybe towards the back but in the middle. absolutely perfect from this time sat down. I don’t think I moved except to eat my popcorn. That is how much this movie grabbed me. The cinematography alone was just like nothing like ever seen. The acting from Kate and Leo was sensational but to be honest at the time, I never really thought about whether he could get on the door I was only later I guess when that whole debate started I thought you could’ve but what a pick up was she says to him. I’ll never let you go and then later you realise she has a granddaughter and she obviously married someone so there goes that promise right out the window was fair for him to ask her that I think it would’ve been more fair for him to say to her “let me go and be happy”.❤ when I went back to work the next day I said everyone you’ve got to see this movie and that was it. Just went boom.

There was room on that door 🚪for two people. Rose🌹 was just being Shady and dropped Jack to the Bottom of the Ocean🌊after telling him that she wouldn't let go. Smh 🙄🤨🤔😂

I went to see this movie with my husband in Columbus Ohio when it came out and I cried my eyes out he did a little bit too I miss my husband so much and I love him still and I meant those vows I just wish he could have been a good husband to me
