@KateEmiley5 жыл бұрын
You're not the only one! A lot of business owners have the fear of sending out emails too often but the thing is if you're delivering VALUE it's going to work in your favour to email them more often. Plus if they're no longer interested, they'll opt out (and you won't have to pay for them anymore!!)

Lol glad it inspired you :P Why do you think you're inconsistent? Is it because you don't know what to say or you don't really have a strategy in place? I'm curious because I want to create more content that you'll find helpful ;)
@KatElizabeth5 жыл бұрын
@@KateEmiley I get very in my head about not wanting to bother my list 😂I actually have 6 months of content planned but aren't following through. (The other issue is my list isn't necessarily the right market now as I'm pivoting slightly but that only accounts for a percentage of them so not a good enough excuse!)
@KateEmiley5 жыл бұрын
@@KatElizabeth hmm confidence is a tricky one but something I'm keen to explore so keep an eye out because I might come up with a video just for you ;) Awesome that you have a plan though and really it doesn't matter if you need to pivot. WIll your old topic be relevant at all? If so, segment your list based on the new topic and the old topic then divide your comms accordingly.

Would love some suggestions for a multi-disciplinary artist friend of mine who has an email newsletter. She paints (art-brut/Outsider Art style), and is a mental health and disability rights advocate. Many of her paintings relate to marginalised people or mental health. She would like to start selling her work online, and has many events including group and solo exhibitions, selling at local markets, and speaking engagements. We would like to find a better focus for the newsletter as she is losing subscribers and it seems to be a regurgitation of events coming on all the time/promoting herself.

Clothing industry 💛
@KateEmiley5 жыл бұрын
This is a super easy one! Rather than just sending out promotions/sales, why not talk about trends you're seeing, outfits of the week (bringing together 3 or 5 items to complete a look), share how you can recreate a celebrity's look with your clothing or educate them on what makes your clothing different (are you ethical, do you use sustainable fabric, have your garments been designed in Italy etc). Think of your "value packed emails" as mini blogs so read a bunch of magazines and blogs to find a BUNCH of different content ideas. I hope that helps!

Ooo there’s SO many things you could do re styling and interiors. Have a look at Pinterest for similar style to yours and I’m sure you’ll find heaps of blog ideas pop up, use these as inspo for a newsletter! Other ideas are details of your process, behind the scenes of you working in your workshop, how clients can work with you (are you commissioned or retail?) What do your clients often ask? What materials do you use and why’s you choose them.

Hi Kate, I’m a singer-songwriter. I have not started a newsletter yet. I plan to offer a free song in exchange for someone’s email address. How often & what should I write about to my readers besides as someone suggested writing abiout how song ideas come to me, that would be of interest/value to them. Question 2: When I offer a freebie should I also mention in the same email address thank you letter anything about music I have for sale as someone suggested for another call to action or should I wait? Thanks!
