U have a strong intuition Kate. U seem like a very calm & somewhat quiet person, which usually means u stand back & observe. By being that way u tend to be more empathetic & intuitive. You see those horizontal lines in the bathroom because I guess you have any sort of LED lightning on. Certain types of lights, specifically some low quality LED, can interfere with a camera's image sensor because they emit light through flickering at a very rapid speed. It’s not perceptible to the human eye but I work as an interior designer and try to check light source quality’s because some clients can sense the flickering or feel triggered by it. Also LEDs with variable colour temperature are more prone to flicker. This is coming from the technical and WHY point of view. I’m not sure if there is any other solution apart from changing the lightning. Some cameras have an anti-flicker setting that adjust the shutter to 60Hz or 50Hz.
