@@brianwhetton9621 NC trains to go faster per lap at the end of a race. I raced cross country dirt bikes, 4-5 laps races, 40-60 miles total. So, I regularly ran 1-2 minutes faster each lap, once I noticed it, I tried to incorporate that as a race strategy. I would give up 2 minutes on the firt lap, and not tire. I would be 5 minutes faster on the last lap, with a pad of 3 minutes faster on laps 2 and 3. Guys would be tired and couldn't change pace. (somertimes) and sometimes they'd hang on like rabid dogs. Good times.

@@jhonnyringo7160 She actually ran a 60m heat earlier in the day (I came across her to my surprise just looking at schools of the starters)! to get muscles active at full blast for about 10 seconds I guess as track was occupied all day long!

Did anyone else notice how high Tuohy’s heels are on each stride? Watch the last two laps where she kicks it into another gear. It’s very apparent that she is pushing forward and not just trying to keep pace.

Katelyn really enjoys the team part of it. She went to the best school for her. Great leadership. She is the best in college but she treats everyone well. Opponents and teammates. Big time all around winner.

1 April 2023 - Here I am again watching Katelyn kick ass. I was so very concerned when she injured herself before her college debut. Those injuries are difficult to return to peak form from. Now I'm watching history being made just as she accomplishment during her high school years. Mid 20's is where most women reach their best years performing. She still has 2 years of college left. I am so happy for her, the Wolfpack girl's team and almighty God who has blessed this elite athlete with the skills that only occur around once in a generation.

The male commentator kept making the same mistake. Mercy’s tactics were wrong. She played into the hands of other runners who have better finishing kicks. Katelyn runs very well from 1500 to 5000 metres. There’s no way Mercy could slow the race and hope to lose her in the later stages. Tsegay, for example, lacks a great finishing kick so aims to do the damage more slowly. Katelyn will most likely run the 5K event at this year’s rs world championship
