I have a question for those of you, who watched the entire video: what was your favourite part and why? I can’t chose myself but I’d love to her your opinions - and let me know if you prefer this style of vlogging or a more random throughout the week. Have yourselves an amazing week ahead!

Love everything in the vlog, but I think that my favourite part is your little commentary throughout. The lighting in your home is unreal, it makes your videos look very aesthetically pleasing which is good for the algorithm. The scenery in Denmark and the food is just the cherry on top. Congratulations on the PR with the half-marathon by the way, you're right that finishing the marathon is the main goal but would love it for you if it could be done in the time that the coach predicted.

Have you thought about fueling your post runs with more carbs than just salad? That plus the great protein in it could be a good recovery meal for your muscle. Also electrolyte drinks are super helpful too.

Yes, absolutely!! As mentioned, I craved bagels / white bread but unfortunately didn’t have any. I was too lazy to wait for pasta or rice to finish cooking, hence why I just had what was possible. But for future references, I’ll have to meal prep a bit maybe :) I’ve been wanting to try electrolytes! Just need to get my hands on the right ones :)

My favorite part was when you said that the Saysky rep suggested you go for a 3:30 finish time. Not meaning to put pressure on you, if you run a 3:30 on your first marathon, that would be epic because that would qualify you for the Boston Marathon.

@katharinaschneider- I’m also in recovery from anorexia and was wondering if, at this point in your journey, you are now able to follow your hunger cues, rather than following a rigid 3 meals, 3 snacks kind of meal plan for the day? :) Great to see you doing so well and loving food/exercise in equal amounts!
@katharinaschneiderr
@katharinaschneiderr 9 ай бұрын
Hi dear:) I haven’t followed a diet or meal plan since I left hospitalisation in 2021. Ever since, I’ve only stuck to my hunger cues and natural cravings to satisfy my hunger. However, I used to get help in the beginning and further into recovery to realise what was normal and what wasn’t - and to push myself and my ability to eat more. Im not in active recovery anymore as I’ve reached a ‘healthy’ weight, got my period back and mentally restored my ‘normal mind’ However, I do still try actively to put on more weight :) I highly suggest you watch my weight gain series if you have any further questions :)

I’ve been to a couple ones when I went to NYC and I was absolutely blown away by your assortments and options!! Wish it was like this here - it’s very common for basic products to be sold out and furthermore pay overprice for more special products (like bagels, for us:’))

A bit of advice from a former elite distance runner and PT, be careful merging two workouts, doing that can put too much stress on your body. Right now I´d advice you to just skip one of the runs if you don´t have time, for example a 5 k run alone doesn´t improve your fitness for the marathon at this stage. I am just saying this so that you don´t risk putting too much stress on your body and end up getting hurt again. And, as someone else commented, and you answered, you need more carbs after your run, if you don´t have bread at home adding a banana woukd be good! Other than that, you are doing great!
@katharinaschneiderr
@katharinaschneiderr 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I follow the plan i am scheduled too and I listen to my body a 100%. A 5k will do me just fine - it depends on the purpose of the run. Don’t worry, I’ve already opted my carb intake A LOT 😅
@user-mr5pe7de9j
@user-mr5pe7de9j 9 ай бұрын
I knpw that you are following the Copenhagen Marathon Plan, and that is great. What I mean is that 13 k in one run puts a lot more stress on the body than 8 + 5 k on following days :-) I love seeing the happiness you show on the runs, it´s exactly what it is all about, having fun and seeing how far you can go :-) I am happy to see that you incorporate some strength training in your plan, that´s also injury prevention, an important part that so easily can be forgotten... you´re doing a good job girl!!

Aaaabsolutely! You’re 100% right - I do remind myself to try and stick to the schedule as much as possible. I’m happy you can tell that running makes me happy - because it’s simply the most enjoyable thing I can do for myself, making this marathon training such a pleasure 🥹 Thank you for all the feedback and your kind words! I really appreciate it.

Hi Katharina, thank you again for this vlog, which I really appreciate, as I do the rest of your videos. I'm writing you this comment in the hope that it will help you, and that you'll be able to think about it. As a former professional ballet dancer, I can give you some "advice" and an opinion based on my experience, and which is an opinion from a distance, which you might need. I'm well aware of where you've come from and where you've arrived, in just a few months, whereas for others it takes years, and I admire you a lot for that. However, I've just got one comment to make to you: in my opinion, seen in this light and in the context in which you present your diet, your current choices are very balanced, very similar to that followed by dancers in my circle, i.e. young women who want to "eat well", of everything, in a studied way and with the aim of having energy, protein so as not to lose muscle, BUT making sure they STAY THIN (for the demands of their profession 🥲). In my opinion, it's not the ideal diet for offsetting the energy expenditure of the marathon AND continuing to gain weight at the same time. I think it lacks a lot of carbohydrates, which you should try to eat at every meal, without exception (even if you've eaten them at other meals during the day). Having some available at home is really important so that you don't find yourself without options and having to eat meals that aren't really suited to your sporting activities. I honestly think it's very difficult to achieve your 2 goals at the same time: that of the marathon, with all the physical exercise it requires and for months on end, and that of the weight gain you set yourself several months ago. You need to try to follow a high-calorie diet, increasing your carbohydrate intake considerably and without restriction, i.e. at EVERY meal and snack during the day, if you want to succeed. What I hope is that you'll manage to keep your current diet when you're no longer faced with the challenge of a marathon, which is when I think it will be perfect for supporting regular physical exercise, but at a lower intensity 😉 I hope you find this advice useful and constructive 😊🩷

Thank you for your feedback. I’ll be sharing much more of what I eat in future videos. I always listen to my body and cravings, keeping in mind I need to fuel properly too which I already notice to work on my runs and the progress I’ve made! My marathon is my goal in sight right now and as long as my body and mind is healthy, that’s what matters :))
