I don't think it's disrespectful to call her by her first name - she is obviously one of the few classy royals who isn't offended to be treated as a normal human being (in fact she seems to prefer it) I believe she's an example to all of them, she does tremendous hands on charity work and I personally treasure the memory of shaking her hand the day she gave me my degree at Leeds University in 1981, dressed in a rather sycophantic Lady Di frilled collar blouse (me not her!)

She actually prefers to not engage with protocol, hence her decision to work under the title of Mrs Kent. She 'suffered' with depression for a number of years & retreated from the public eye for some time.I recall some time back,in another rare interview that she admitted that her work with children & teaching music saved her from the depths of despair. It was her husband the Duke of Kent who took over the presentation of the champion's cup at Wimbledon when she withdrew from public life.

It's unnatural appearing. And, it does nobody any good. But, I will say this about them. @MrSwifts317 жыл бұрын
She was 28 when she married the Duke (in 1961) and found out that the Royal Family was full of formality and unwritten rules (until you break them) After losing a baby in 1975,aged 42,she became even more detached (due to depression caused by the loss) from the Royal Family, and sadly from the Duke. She lived on her own for some years, but now it seems is back with the Duke, presumably with age you need what is familiar and loving around you. Having met her on several occasions I can say she is a wonderful human being.
