Flip side on the phone calls: I'm a stay at home dad. Whenever the school calls about our kid, they always call my wife. She is at work, while I am either at home or running errands. She gets so pissed when the school calls her. School Nurse: "Abigail, Lilly has a tummy ache." My wife: "What the f*ck am I going to be able to do about it. I'm in a board meeting right now discussing a merger of two telecommunications companies. Call my husband, Lilly's father." School Nurse: "But, we've always been told to call the moms.". We had to change the paperwork for our kid's school to say "Mike = Mom; Abigail = Dad".

Just to inform you. Cisgender is a term for people whose gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth.

Seems unecessary. And just to be clear, you make it sound as if when exiting your mother's womb there is someone telling you: "Ah yes from now on Kathryn you shall be a female." Sex is not assigned, it is part of your body. If the brain disagrees with or dislikes the body it is in, do whatever to make yourself happy.

@@Weirdbrit because sometimes people dont want to explain that they were born as a certain sex, but felt it didnt fit them, so they changed their gender. Its easier to just use one word which explains all that for you (transgender). And for each word there is a word that means the opposite, so thats why we have the word cisgender
