That first book reminds me of my husband and me. Though we were born a year and a half apart, we were delivered by the same doctor in the same hospital, and he grew up playing on land my grandfather owned, which was right by my husband’s childhood home. We met on an evening I wasn’t planning to go out, got into a car wreck on Valentine’s Day, just 8 days after my 16th birthday and broke my neck, figured out we had gone to church together at not one, but TWO difference churches as children, and just a couple of years ago we realized we shared a dill pickle when we were little and had completely forgotten it until we brought up his childhood friend, whose mother was friends with both his mother and my mother, and who happened to invite me and my mom to go roller skating with him and his friend when I was 8 and he was 10. Thus, the pickle. Crazy how love works sometimes.
