How do you have so much range and attack speed on your defences? I’m new to the game

You get points through leveling up your charactger, and also items have points in the various categories.

Im pretty sure the summoner's mages only heal other summoner units.

the best loot you can get is in mixed mode(+6%) hardcore(+25%), yet another mechanic the game doesn't really explain also starting at wave 23 is a real gamechanger for farming loot

Yep, that's how I farm. I think Mixed mode is +8%?
