Kathit Pan - Mar Mar Aye (Myanmar song) ကသစၲပနၲး

Burmese song.Mar Mar Aye's beautiful voice sensitively sung with wonderful expressivity.
Athura,the demon king ( Assura in Hindu mythology) was defeated and expelled from Nat Pyi (heaven) by Thagyar Min ( Indra in Hindu mythology). Athuras used red Kathit flowers in their festivities. In Athura land, where he had to settle, only the white Thakhut flowers blossom. Every year whenever the Thakhut flower blossoms, he remembers that he is not in Nat Pyi and marched towards Nat pyi to attack Thagya Min. Thagya Min used the lighting as his weapon. Thats the reason, that on earth there is lightning, thunder and rain whenever there is a battle between them, so it says..
Athura's daughter tried to distract Thagya Min from his meditation, but ended falling in love with him and married him instead. So Athura is Thagyamin's father in law.
The composer added a human touch to the song by promising his beautiful wife that he will not imitate them, and will be on good term with his father- in- law and will send him for a long sabbath in the monastery !!
The botanical name of Thakhut was given by a retired botany professor from Myanmar- Dolichandrone spathacea.- white trumpet flower.

What a wonderful creation! To hear Mar Mar Aye's beautiful voice in full splendor and full of expressivity and at the same time actually seeing the battle between thagya min and athura with lightnings and galons and nagas. I could never visualise the story. Now thanks to your creation, I can actually see it now. The best part was when the father in law was lovingly abandoned for a long sabbath at the monastery. @MMAsIngs The story is confusing for young children who have never seen the 2 flowers especially in the city.We can see Kathit flowers in Yangon (Rangoon). The Thakhut flowers can be only seen only in the Delta Region,where the Thakhut trees grow in the swamp (where the sea & river -tide meet).

I read this article before , but different than your story. Nothing about the flower, I read from NayMi Jakarta . Arthura lost his land & daughters by Thagya Min. That cause the war.
